This true story is about grits and humor.
A friend and I were staying at the Forest Hills Inn on Long Island; where the US Open tennis tournement used to be played.
At breakfast, friend tells waitress he'd like two over easy, sausage, and grits.
Waitress says I've heard of grits but I don't think we have them.
Friend says I have to have some for breakfast everyday because I'm a grit farmer.
Waitress says how do you raise grits?
Friend says, honey, it's easy you just plant 'em and they grow. But then comes the hard part.
What's that she asks?
Pickin' them little rascals.
