Catalonia planning to secede from Spain

This may be significant. Spain doesn't allow secession. Will they fight to keep Catalonia? How will the EU respond?

This may start war in Europe. Might be a small one. Might not. but it's something it would be wise to watch. Because while it be nice if things elsewhere in the world don't affect us, they do.

It is quite interesting: Catalonia's point is that they are being used to steal money from to prop up the dysfunctional areas of Spain. This is exactly how Germany and Holland and Finland feel about the southern parts of Europe.

Scotland set the date for a secession vote last week, in 2014, I think. This financial crisis is straining national boundaries as well as the European Union itself.
