Shockwaves are still going through a Weirton neighborhood after police learned a homeowner was operating a strip club using young girls as exotic dancers.
Ray Donald Loy, 39, a registered sex offender, was arrested Tuesday after police found hundreds of explicit videos, photos and CD's. Loy faces charges of using a minor to produce obscene matter, police said, with more charges pending.
Police said now that Loy is in custody, the investigation is taking a turn and focusing on the underage girls.
"Even though they may have voluntarily cooperated or attended any of these functions at the residence, we're considering them as victims," said Captain Vince Gala.
Police are sifting through hundreds of tapes, looking to identify the young girls. Police said they have been able to identify some, but won't elaborate on whether they are from the local area.
"It hampers the investigation similar to a drug investigation because we're trying to gain the cooperation of the people that were involved at this point. They may be potential witnesses to activities that were going on there," Gala said.
Police said they are not looking to charge potential victims, rather they're hoping they will just come forward and give them information they can use to determine who was profiting from the club, and whether Loy was acting alone.
