The President is flying into Los Angeles again (this is what, the 12th time?), not for any "presidential" purposes (conferences etc.), but to attend fundraisers with movie moguls and liberal rock stars. Again.

You Los Angeles folks know the drill. Either leave your car at home, or plan to live in it those days. Don't plan on going anywhere. Call in sick to work on Monday. You know you won't be able to get to work anyway - traffic in much of the metro area will be at a standstill, pretty much all day, due to road closures to let Obama's motorcade through and to keep traffic away from whatever building(s) he's in or near. And, of course, the roads that aren't closed, will be swamped with traffic trying to get around the roads that are.

Private pilots, if you were figuring on flying anywhere near Los Angeles, forget it. If you try, you will be intercepted by F-16s with cannons armed and white missiles on the rails and "escorted" to a nearby air base, where you will be held and requested to explain why you were within 30 miles of Air Force One, even when it's on the ground and empty. No, I'm not kidding. See NOTAM 2/2979. http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_2_2979.html

I called Katy Perry to ask if I could visit her too. She hasn't called me back yet.

And remember, President Obama cares about you.

Obama fundraiser Sunday with Katy Perry, Bon Jovi to snarl traffic

Presidential visit Sunday "could" cause traffic delays

President Obama's star-studded fundraising concert Sunday at Nokia Theater -- with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and Katy Perry -- is expected to snarl traffic in the area.

The president is expected to arrive Sunday to attend several functions, Los Angeles police said in a statement. Details were not available, but police said his motorcade would move through the Westside on Sunday afternoon, with temporary street closures.

In late afternoon, the motorcade will travel to downtown Los Angeles for more events, with potential brief closures along the 10 Freeway and streets around L.A. Live and Nokia Theatre, police said.

Early Monday there could be more street closures in the Beverly Hills and Westside areas as the president departs Southern California. The following streets may be affected:

Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Pico Boulevard between Overland Avenue and Beverly Drive; Avenue of the Stars between Olympic and Sunset boulevards; and Sunset between Beverly Glen and Doheny Drive.

Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.: Sunset Boulevard between Beverly Glen and Doheny Drive; North Whittier Drive between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards.

Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.: Avenue of the Stars between Wilshire and Pico Boulevards; Motor Avenue between Pico and the 10 Freeway; streets around L.A. Live and Nokia Theatre.

Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m.: Motor Avenue between National and Pico boulevards; Avenue of the Stars between Pico and Santa Monica boulevards.

Monday 7 to 9 a.m.: Avenue of the Stars between Santa Monica and Pico boulevards.
