I was listening to clips on the radio on the way back from my cousins tonight. This whole situation makes me sick thinking about. Some "clinical psychologists" is telling 14 years olds to have sex and do drugs.
I have a couple of links. There is links to the audio on Malkins page.

cited from the WND article:
The instructions came from Joel Becker, an associate clinical professor of psychology at the University of California at Los Angeles.
"I am going to encourage you to have sex and encourage you to use drugs appropriately," Becker said during his appearance at the school as part of a recent panel sponsored by the University of Colorado's Conference on World Affairs.
"Why I am going to take that position is because you are going to do it anyway," he continued. "I think as a psychologist and health educator, it is more important to educate you in a direction that you might actually stick to. So, I am going to stay mostly on with the sex side because that is the area I know more about. I want to encourage you to all have healthy, sexual behavior."
How does a man like this become a clinical psychologists? If he has gone through the degree process he knows how dangerous sex and drugs can be. Yet he is preaching to kids to do them anyway.
Listen to the audio. its messed up.

No he isn't. This was on O'Reilly. This is outrageous. I'm a fairly peaceful man. If you don't mess with me, I most likely won't mess with you. But if I'd have had a young child at that school that day, I'd have gone down there and knocked some mother fucker's sons a bitchin' teeth out.

Sex experts offend at Boulder, Co. high school
Guest: Dan Caplis, KHOW
High school students in Boulder, Colorado received some unexpected advice this week. During a mandatory assembly, psychologist Joel Becker said this: "I'm going to encourage you to have sex, and I'm going to encourage you to use drugs appropriately ... it's very natural for young people to experiment with same sex relationships." Colorado radio host Dan Caplis reported that his listeners are incensed. "Once we started playing the tape, I have heard more outrage than I've heard in years. We've heard from a lot of parents at Boulder High who say they're not going to stand for this. I believe a lot of those parents are ready to fight back." The Factor added that Boulder rivals any town in America as a haven for secular-progressives. "It is hard to believe that in America today you can have a town as out-of-control as Boulder. It doesn't seem that the residents care if the high school tells their kids to go out and have sex and use narcotics."

All kids are NOT like you LN. Some kids come from conservative families, and they're told not to do drugs or have sex at home. Obviously you are forming your opinions on your own life LN, because my parents told me to don't do drugs, and keep my pecker in my pants. I listened. What they told me directly affected what I did. I like my parents, and thought what they told me was right. If you don't, or won't, listen to your parents, you are not speaking for ALL kids. Not even close.

It's the whole double standards deal. The Democrats wanted him tossed and called him a disgrace, but when on of their own Governor McGreevy of New Jerseygot caught cheating on his wife in a seedy rent by the hour motel room with a male member of his staff, they Democrats defended him. The Democratic Party even pitched a fit when he decided to step down as Governor and made excuses for his actions, but when it happened to Foley they attacked him and his morality. Hipocrits.

So you believe kids have no control over their decisions? Thats bullshit. People are responsible for their own actions, thats what should be taught to kids. Instead liberals like you want kids to believe they're not much higher than animals on the evolutionary scale, and not only are they not responsible for giving into their desires, but its perfectly natural.

Ultimately, it is up to a person whether or not they actually engage in sex or drugs. But just as we educate kids about the dangers of drugs, and why they should be avoided, we should also educate kids about teenage sex (and all premarital sex, in Jeff's perfect world), so that they understand the possible outcomes (pregnancy, STDs, dads with shotguns, etc.) and discourage the behavior.

See, this is double speak... on the one hand, you are saying the kids control their behavior, no matter what we say. On the other hand you are saying adults' messages might work to influence behavior.
Truth is, no one CAN absolutely control ALL teens' behavior. But if we hope to influence it, why would we send them this mixed message? Just tell them DON'T do it! This isn't some wishy-washy "choice." Drugs and sex are HARMFUL at this age. Period. Some teens will not listen, no matter what we tell them, but the ones who ARE listening deserve to hear the BEST message.

It doesn't work that way. There are two kinds of teens: the kind who listen to adults, and the kind who don't. The kind who don't listen are going to do it their own way, no matter what the adults say. The kind who DO listen deserve to get the BEST message. Telling these kids to "protect themselves" instead of telling them "don't do it" is a disservice to them.
