I fail to see the difference in brands of beer. They all come from the same cow's bladder.

You're not drinking the right stuff.
I fail to see the difference in brands of beer. They all come from the same cow's bladder.
I'm an unabashed beer snob. For the mass-produced, cooking-beers like Budweiser, Coors, Miller, etc., you are absolutely correct.
I used to sell beer for a living. I'd try to convince people to try my beer. They'd say something like "No, I'm a Bud man," or something like that. So I'd offer them a bet. I'd buy half a dozen beer, put them in glasses, line them up on a table, and offer that guy $50 if he could pick out his beer after tasting all of them. Never once did I pay out. I did that maybe 20-30 times. Statistically, given that there is a 1 in 6 chance he'd get it right, you'd think I'd have paid out once. But I never did, which is pretty amazing unto itself. Most people cannot tell the difference.
It was still a good deal for that guy, though. I'd give him and his friends the six beers!
There is a big, big difference between the micro-brews, though. I love finely crafted beer.
