You know what would really help along those roads? Fucking shade trees. I know this is completely unsupportable, but apparently, the sun is really fucking hot, and shady spots, where the sun doesn't quite reach, are thus cooler.

If the roads are warping due to the heat, some engineers need to be fired.

They seem to be able to build roads that don't melt or warp in less developed parts of Upper Egypt where it reaches 50C+ in Summer. Why can't ultra advanced 1st world USA do it too?

Because numbnuts you build for the NORM in an area not for the extremes. also if you have ONE highway to build you can use 24 inches of concrete if you are building thouseands of miles of road you use asphalt wich is what warped in the extremem hot sun. Now that being said I can agree that it should have been made better, but to get your little jab in at America is just pathetic... :poke:

And we have probably a million miles of roads that wouldn't buckle either, just not ALL of our roads. But I'm glad to hear that Egypt can perform a little advanced engineering and have a few men on the ball. Now if you can just figure out a way to keep 80+% of the men from beating the women in Egypt...

It sure looks like a boring stretch of land. No trees or anything to look at. It's a wonder all the drivers don't fall asleep from shear boredom and crash. Damn, I sure am glad we have a kazillion trees and scenery to look at.

We just can't depend on the great blobs of Camel Poo, spread throughout the Mid-east that serves as a protective barrier against the heat on sandy roads.

I still say the simplest solution is to put trees along the roadsides out there. It'll take the asphalt out of direct sun, plus it makes the area look nicer
