Stephen Moore, an economist with the Wall Street Journal, appeared on Fox News recently to discuss the ramifications of the president’s new health care law…and his analysis is sure to come as a shock to those who haven’t been following the matter closely.
Though Barack Obama assured the middle class he would not raise taxes on those making less than $200,000 a year, Moore’s research shows that in reality, a significant percentage of the burden will be shouldered by those making $120,000 or less by the year 2016.

Probably be a good idea and the responsible thing to do to go buy health insurance.
If they don't do it fuck em....tax em fine em whatever you want to call it. Force people into being responsible if they won't do it on their own.
Its time to try something new, capitalism and free markets at least on this issue have been shown to be a dismal failure.

Your knowledge of economics as well as the US Constitution would fit inside a thimble
The USSC has fired up the majority of voters who want Obamacare repealed and with the USSC saying Obamacare is a tax bill make the process of repeal much easier

Forcing people that refuse to pay their bills sounds like a good plan in theory, but those who don't get insurance now because they can't afford to do so, how do you think they'll pay for it when forced to do so? That's right, they won't. And guess who gets to foot the bill for the indigent and the illegals? That's right, that taxpayers.

The something new, is actually something tried and true that's been abandoned...TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR YOURSELF! We've allowed our government to set up the system so free-loaders can not only exist, but prosper. Obamacare is no different in that regard.

They can do the exact same thing under Obamacare for $285. And as Jimmy's already asked, who do you suppose is going to pay for the balance of that ER bill?

Before PPACA, the patient held the fiscal responsibility for their medical care resulting from their choice to not have a health insurance policy.
After the PPACA, the health insurance companies will bear the fiscal responsibility for these reckless people. After all, the health insurance companies must issue policies to any who can pay the premium at the time of injury or illness and without being able to restrict coverage based on preexisting conditions.
What the PPACA does is reduce the pool of funds available to the health insurance companies to pay on the policies they issue, while simultaneously increasing their legal liability to pay out. Less money coming in from healthy people, and more money going out to cover those just-in-time policyholders medical expenses. It's a move designed to destroy the health insurance sector, period.

Here's an idea; if the government is going to compel hospitals to treat anyone who shows up in emergency rooms, why doesn't the government assist hospitals in collecting overdue bills?
Let the government confiscate the yuppie's 2012 BMW he bought instead of health insurance. Garnish his paychecks. Send his tax refunds directly the hospital. Lots of options other than socialism.

and here are the taxes in Obamacre that will hit those making less then $250,000/yr. Remember how Obama "promised" that anyone making less then $250,000/yr would not pay a penny more in taxes?
Well so much for that one liner? Add these taxes onto the above and anyone (including Obama lap dogs) wil see the middle class are geting screwed over by Hope and Change
snip
Here’s a rundown of seven ObamaCare tax hikes that affect the hoi polloi.
No. 1. The Individual Mandate Excise Tax. Starting in 2014, anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance must pay an income tax surtax. It goes up each year until 2016 and beyond when a couple would pay a tax of the higher of $1,360 or 2.5% of adjusted gross income.
No. 2. The Over-The-Counter Drugs Trap. Since Jan. 1, 2011, employees with health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts or health reimbursement accounts have no longer been able to use pre-tax funds stashed in these accounts to buy over-the-counter medicines for allergy relief and the like without a doctor’s prescription (there’s an exception for insulin).
No. 3. The Healthcare Flexible Spending Account Cap. Starting Jan. 1, 2013, employees will face a $2,500 cap on the amount of pre-tax salary deferrals they can make into a healthcare flexible spending account. There is no cap under current law. In light of the new cap, employee benefits groups are lobbying for Congress to modify the use-it-or-lose-it rule that means employees forfeit unused funds in their accounts at the end of the plan year.
No. 4. The Medical Itemized Deduction Hurdle. Starting Jan. 1, 2013, taxpayers who face high medical expenses will only be allowed a deduction for expenses to the extent they exceed 10% of adjusted gross income, up from 7.5% now. Taxpayers 65 and older can still use the old 7.5% threshold through 2016.
No. 5. The Health (http://www.forbes.com/health/) Savings Account Withdrawal Penalty. Since Jan. 1, 2011, taxpayers who withdraw money from health savings accounts for non-medical expenses before age 65 face a 20% penalty, up from 10% before.
No. 6. The Indoor Tanning Services Tax. Since July 1, 2010, folks using indoor tanning salons face a new 10% excise tax. This one hasn’t been bringing in as much revenue as anticipated (http://www.forbes.com/sites/ashleaebeling/2011/10/13/treasury-finds-tanning-tax-collections-lacking/).
No. 7. The Cadillac Health Insurance Plan Tax. Starting in 2018, there will be a new 40% excise tax on taxpayers who are covered by high-cost health insurance plans (with premiums at or above $10,200 for a single or $27,500 for a family). Insurers or employers who are self-insured will pay the tax, but it is expected to trickle down to mean higher costs for consumers.

and I found this gem outlining who will NOT pay the Obamacare Tax. Makes you wonder how the hell this tax bill is going make health ins more affordable
Now that the Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, who will pay the tax for not having health insurance?
CBO answered this in April 2010 (http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/cbofiles/ftpdocs/113xx/doc11379/individual_mandate_penalties-04-30.pdf). They projected that in 2016, when the mandate is in effect and the tax is fully phased in, there will still be 21 million uninsured people. This belies the advertised “universal coverage” label.
Oversimplifying a bit, for most people the tax in 2016 will be $750 per adult and $375 per kid.
But while 21 million people will be uninsured, CBO said “the majority of them will not be subject to penalty.” That’s an understatement.
You won’t have to pay the tax if:
you’re not in the U.S. legally;
you’re in prison;
you’re poor (measured two different ways);
you’re a member of an Indian tribe;
you’re in a period of being uninsured that’s less than three months long;
your religion forbids getting health insurance; or
you get a waiver from HHS.
Given HHS’ behavior in handing out waivers since the law was enacted, this waiver authority bears further observation and scrutiny.
In addition, some who are legally required to pay the tax will not do so. CBO/JCT therefore assumes a certain amount of noncompliance (aka cheating).
This gets CBO’s 21 million uninsured in 2016 down dramatically to 3.9 million who will be both uninsured and pay the tax. Total U.S. population in 2016 will be about 327 million.
This means that, in 2016:
almost 94 out of every 100 people will have health insurance in some form;
five out of every 100 will be uninsured and pay no tax;
a bit more than one out of every 100 will be uninsured and pay a tax to the government.
If I’m that one person out of 100, I’m going to be pretty ticked off at those five. All six of us are uninsured but I’m the only one of the six who has to pay higher taxes.
CBO also estimated the income levels of those 3.9 million uninsured who will pay higher taxes. More than 3/4 of them are not rich.

This is only going to hurt the people who are working on a PRN basis or those working a lower wage job because of the recession (that is over lol).
I have friends that are looking for work who don't qualify for medicade, the last thing they need is that added expense of a penalty for not having private insurance. Cobra costs a fortune.
I also have family members who've lost their insurance and did without for 4-5 months. They will get penalized as well under this new law.
It isn't the truely poor who will suffer, they already get free insurance. It's the people who are unemployed or between jobs who will be paying this tax. In other words the lower middle class, the very people bambam professes to care about.

There are millions of Americans who are honestly so Uninformed, if not Un-educated, who believe Obama is still the greatest thing since sliced-bread for them.
Obama and the Democrats have managed to slow down, if not stop that portion of American's who voted for him...from becoming Knowledgeable, and able to Think on their own.
They are intentionally so dependent upon LIARS like Obama, and Democrat congress people who promise them everything, all the time. Why would they WANT, or NEED to become educated, or learn the truth when OBAMA and the Dems keep making promises that LIFE WILL ALWAYS BE FREE, as long as they VOTE for the Obama's, and Democrats who also LIE.
Obama and Congress DOES NOT CARE what the outcome will be. Nor do they care that other Americans are exposing their lies anymore.
As long as the OATH Obama took means nothing, and the Democrats follow his lead.

Great for you. The 'Cadillac Provision' doesn't kick into effect until 2019, by that time nearly all private insurance plans today would be considered 'Cadillac Plans.' Most employers by that time will either just push their employees into the public plan or perhaps offer some sort of bridge coverages between what is now offered and the governments plan.

Actually no. When the whole argument was going on in 2009, those that actually followed the subject realized most of those without insurance were either young people just entering the work force and choosing not have have insurance deducted from their paychecks and the working poor who also choose not to have insurance deducted from their checks.
Now however the left is shrieking about 'freeloaders' having to pay, when earlier it was all about those 'poor' people, ignoring they are already covered by Medicaid.

Trigg. Sadly. That attitude you saw above is far reaching, and not restricted to any particular group of Americans.
The reality is. MOST Americans have no idea what is happening. A very small proportion of our entire Population of more than 300 million...isn't really smart enough to be concerned about what is happening to other Americans...as long as they can tell themselves...IT DOESN'T AFFECT ME, SO I DON'T CARE.
But the truth is, and always will be.
Most Americans are more concerned with when they will get OFF work, if they have a job. And whether they will get their fix of entertainment, before they get drunk enough not to worry about the rest of the World for another night in their Un-educated, Un-caring world of Stupidity.

You are missing a lot. Someone who's been on unemployment, but playing it by working up to 1/2 of what they are getting in UI payments, may be making 15X or more than someone working a full time temp job and p-t job, working over 40 hours a week. The douche playing UI can afford the Cobra payments for a year. The guy making 16-20k cannot.
There are tens of millions of 'formerly entrenched middle class people' now among the working poor. They make too much for benefits, but not enough for anything beyond rent, utilities, food, and getting to and from work. They are not using credit and they are not collecting welfare-in kind or cash.

That's some small government conservatism right there.
Do you favor repealing government regulations that mandate hospitals to treat anyone who walks through the door?
If you do, then fine, I would agree my suggestion is excessive.
If you do not favor that repeal, then why is my suggestion excessive?

As I understand it's not an income based tax which would still need to be paid regardless of income.
What the GOP should insist upon, but won't...
Is that Earned Income Tax Credit payments (i.e., welfare) be withheld to if the penalty is not paid. Use one wealth redistribution scheme to pay for another and keep costs down.

You obviously know how the tax syatem works. Our self professed expert on all topics does not - which should not surprise anyone who has been here for more then 2 days
Meanwhile, the IRS is adding 6.500 agents to collect the tax that is not a tax - and collect the tax from the people who owe the tax that is not a tax
An article posted on Alex Jones (http://www.debatepolicy.com/topic/alex-jones) website, InfoWars.com, on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 (http://www.infowars.com/thousands-of-new-irs-agents-to-be-hired-to-enforce-obamacare/), reveals Rep. Kevin Brady, a Texas Republican, warns that the IRS (http://www.debatepolicy.com/topic/irs) will be hiring up to 6,500 tax enforcers to go after American citizens who refuse to pay the Obamacare (http://www.debatepolicy.com/topic/obamacare) tax. Or is it a penalty? Either way, it's going to cost the American tax payer a bundle of money.
According to InfoWars.com (http://www.infowars.com/thousands-of-new-irs-agents-to-be-hired-to-enforce-obamacare/), aside from the fact that Americans will be forced to comply with government mandated insurance coverage there are also nearly two dozen new tax increases that will be levied under Obamacare. If you think you have trouble understanding the tax forms now just wait until these new laws go into effect.
At least one of those new taxes will be used to offset the $300 million the IRS says it needs to manage the infrastructure needed to institute these new policies and hire 4,000 to 6,500 new tax enforcers to strong-arm the American public into paying the price of Obamacare.
However, according to Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (http://www.debatepolicy.com/topic/debbie-wasserman-schultz), these new tax enforcers won't be collecting taxes, they'll be collecting penalties. In a CNN interview (http://www.infowars.com/dnc-chair-irs-easiest-enforcer-of-obamacare/) she stated:
“This is a penalty that will be assessed on the tax return if you choose to roll the dice and make us all pay for your being irresponsible and increase all of our health care costs.”

Not for nothing though. That's CH's whole schtick...try to use the 'rules' against others to control the conversation, while simultaneously pushing the 'rules' himself to prove what a badass he is by comparison.
But of course he still finds the need to point out all the alleged 'abuses'...makes him look like a victim of the big bad bullies. He was probably a huge tattletell as a child too.

and I found this gem outlining who will NOT pay the Obamacare Tax. Makes you wonder how the hell this tax bill is going make health ins more affordable
The one that states an exemption , if your religion forbids getting healthcare insurance. That was put in for the muslims my friend.
They idnt want to be attacked by the muslims here and obama favors the muslims . Whats that most beautiful sound he ever heard? His words the answer , "the muslim afternoon call to prayers". Who has he stated he would stand by in the end, His words and answer --Islam!
Islamists are exempt and that's why nobody has heard a single word of criticism from them about this monstrosity!
OBAMA TAKES CARE OF HIS OWN! He was muslim when a child in Indonesia. Look it up if in doubt. Millions of muslims will get free healthcare at zero cost to them , a fact.-Tyr

Anyone remember Obama making promises during his campaign, where he said. "No American who makes less than $200 Thousand dollars a year will be Taxed"?
Turns out. From the CBO....Congressional Budget Office....supposedly a Non-Partisan entity.
More than 75% of Americans who Work, Have a Home, and those who Do Not Work, Are on Unemployment, WILL BE TAXED. Not only by Obamacare's 21 new, embedded taxes. But also, when Obama and the Dems allow the Former Bush tax cuts to Expire, January 1st, 2013.

Which Supreme Court are you talking about?
The U.S Supreme Court. Fondly called SCOTUS here in America. Ruled last week.
Your post here is far, and above what anyone would dare call a Pissing Match.

Sadly, I get no help from Mork these days and spend all my waking hours earning a living.
So, because few enough people find Dr. Ron Paul 'unelectable' we can now be assured that we've just heard the final nail driven on the American coffin. If anyone believes that Romney, if elected, would repeal the HC Act, end the Fed, get us out of any of these wars, dismantle any institutions of the overwhelming government or do any other sensible thing, these are the people truly living in fantasy land. All those guys are in the same good old boy clubs. Ron Paul is the only true outsider and he is touted as a quack. We really do deserve what we get and what we're going to get is more of the same, only worse.

So Ron Paul would solve all those things, regardless of what Congress wants? Maybe just executive order everything?

Perhaps Ron Paul's statement that America bought 9/11 on itself is the reason the old goat ended up in last place in nearly every primary

Despite SCOTUS ruling it is a TAX obama and crew declare it is NOT A TAX. While they train and arm over 6.000 IRS agents to collect the --"not a tax"
Since when has IRS collected anything but a tax?
So it is a tax! Which means by law that SCOTUS could not have legally heard and ruled the case!
Just words , remember obama said just words. Which means his way triumphs over just words = the Constitution.
Apparently SCOTUS AGREES!--Tyr
