New Hampshire town asks Obama campaign to pay for costs of upcoming visit

A New Hampshire town is asking the Obama campaign to foot the up to $30,000 bill for the president's upcoming campaign stop in their city.
MyFoxBoston reports the town of Durham is asking Obama's campaign to reimburse the estimated $20,000 to $30,000 needed to fund additional police and fire safety services during his Monday visit to the University of New Hampshire.
"Community leaders do not believe that costs associated with the campaign should be borne by local taxpayers," the release says according to MyFoxBoston.

I'm OK with this, as long as it applies to all politicians that want to stop by. It's a great way to raise revenue.

I don't think they're trying to raise money, I think they're trying to keep from sticking taxpayers with a campaign security bill.

They also skipped the bill for the Father's Day BBQ lunch :)

I'm glad these folks have requested he foot the bill though...We have had Obama and Biden here...and they do require overtime for traffic cops/freeways shut down/traffic re routed... etc.

Seems they like to tell us that they repay the taxpayers...they just forget to mention that it's usually at reduced rates when they do. ;)

relax, I agree and have posted many times that overall I agree the Obama's want to live like royalty while lecturing us, the little people. I Was only commenting on the singular issue of children's nutrition, on which I think MO is genuine.

It is not really too far off topic IMHO. The topc points to the part of the exspense of obama's campaigning being borne by the citizens in towns that he visits. I merely pointed to the lack of care he and his wife have about the costs to we citizens of thier agendas and actions.
