Ward 8 D.C. Councilman Marion Barry is on the hot seat again.

Celebrating his victory in the Democratic primary on Tuesday night, Barry spoke up about the prominence of businesses owned by Asians in the District.

“We got to do something about these Asians coming in and opening up businesses and dirty shops,” Barry said in remarks first reported by WRC-TV. “They ought to go. I’m going to say that right now. But we need African-American businesspeople to be able to take their places, too.”

It just blows my mind. Had this been a republican, anywhere in the US, it would be on every station in America and protested until he/she left office. Since it's Barry, most people are like "Oh, it's just that crackhead in DC again". Don't the people in DC care about their community and who leads them? Or can I assume that a lot of them there like their community as-is and like their leaders, hence Barry being in office over and over...

EVERY major city has a city council which is full of the local hoodlums. They vote in the favorite boy and or girl and then proceed to tie the hands of the local police. It becomes criminals controlling the city. They're not like socialists, they're more like tribal chiefs, each with their own little force of thugs and hoods. They use the democrat party because it's the most naive. The big cities contain an enormous amount of ignorant people, who are easily manipulated and usually greedy. Barry is a manipulator and knows how to use people. The white elites use him to get the people to go along with their party.
