Well, well, so even Newsweek is acknowledging the war on Christianity, and the danger of Islamic believers. The time is coming where our faith will be tested.

The Global War on Christians in the Muslim World
Author: Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Feb 6, 2012
We hear so often about Muslims (http://www.debatepolicy.com/articles/2011/09/25/muslims-in-europe-pope-lamented-slow-suicide.html) as victims of abuse in the West and combatants in the Arab Spring (http://www.debatepolicy.com/newsweek/2011/10/16/violence-against-egypt-s-copts-in-an-intolerant-arab-spring.html)’s fight against tyranny. But, in fact, a wholly different kind of war is underway—an unrecognized battle costing thousands of lives. Christians are being killed in the Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide that ought to provoke global alarm.
The portrayal of Muslims as victims or heroes is at best partially accurate. In recent years the violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. In some countries it is governments and their agents that have burned churches and imprisoned parishioners. In others, rebel groups and vigilantes have taken matters into their own hands, murdering Christians and driving them from regions where their roots go back centuries.
The media’s reticence on the subject no doubt has several sources. One may be fear of provoking additional violence. Another is most likely the influence of lobbying groups such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation—a kind of United Nations of Islam centered in Saudi Arabia (http://www.debatepolicy.com/articles/2011/07/11/saudi-arabia-fried-or-foe-asks-senator-bob-graham.html)—and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Over the past decade, these and similar groups have been remarkably successful in persuading leading public figures and journalists in the West to think of each and every example of perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as an expression of a systematic and sinister derangement called “Islamophobia”—a term that is meant to elicit the same moral disapproval as xenophobia or homophobia.
But a fair-minded assessment of recent events and trends leads to the conclusion that the scale and severity of Islamophobia pales in comparison with the bloody Christophobia currently coursing through Muslim-majority nations from one end of the globe to the other. The conspiracy of silence surrounding this violent expression of religious intolerance has to stop. Nothing less than the fate of Christianity—and ultimately of all religious minorities—in the Islamic world is at stake.

Why the reference to Ron Paul supporters?
Surely you have heard that Paul simplistically blames Muslim attacks of the US on our aggressive involvement in the Arab world? If we just leave them alone, they would never attack us, hate us?
It's good to see a main stream outlet finally acknowledge that Arab hatred goes deeper, wider and older than our physical involvement in the ME. It's not coincidental that the kind of people who have attacked us, see the primary religion of the West as a favorite target wherever it is practised.

I have, and indeed i've posted on this website about what nonsense that is, and referenced a number of times atrocities like East Timor and the subsequent Bali Bombing and murder of Sergio vleira de Mello, not to mention the more recent attacks on a small European democracy, because the president of said country to dare no violate the constitution and force a closure of the free press if and when the president (and islamic pressure groups) see fit etc.
Though in fairness you probably didn't notice, since i only attack Christianity :salute:

So now "us" equals all the Christians of the world? What are you proposing that "us" should do?
Simplistically huh? If we're involved in the world we shouldn't be surprised if the world takes issue.

Abbey, Yes , This "Paulin?" is very aware of of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world. Visit a website called Voice of the Martyrs plenty of news about how Muslims have been attacking Christians for years.
Another Paul a few centuries back told a young pastor "Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." When atheistic communism was big Christians died for that in Europe, the far east and south America. Christian missionaries have died under the hands of tribesmen that believe in river gods and sky gods. Etc..
Ron Paul has never said that Muslims are or Irans Mullahs or Suadis Muslims royals are freindly folks, just that we don't have to go to war with people who ahve never attacked us or who are not a serious threat. there are plenty of countries that hate the U.S. but we don't threaten to go to war with them.
the thing that your pointing out with the newsweek story is something that , for the most part is a local or transnational issue. Muslims upset over the presence of Christians , no matter what country they are from, The Christians they attack are often their own countrymen and women. Sometimes people their own families. That's not a natinalist motivation.
Plus the reason many people have said they hate us in not becuase America is "christain" but we've been told that "they hate our freedom" which is BS.
You seem to be saying here it's becuase we are Chrsitain, I think if the country were MORE christain we'd probably have less problems with Muslims. The radicals call the U.S. "the GREAT SATAN" not "the GREAT CHRISTIAN" becuase tehy don't see a country lead by holiness or reverence to God but decadence, sin and world wide military agression. It's a poor caricature but there is some truth in it.
Notice what Abso says he's probably a decent representative of a middle eastern muslim. If we treated him with respect we'd get what we gave. Sure there are radicals but the golden rule should be OUR standard even if its not theirs.
And as an aside I could post some horrible stories of Hindu "radicals" attacking Christian women and children in India. Even the local police have attacked Churches. Now we know the Indian Gov't is full of Hindus, they SAY they aren't radicals but India has nukes NOW, why aren't we afraid of Radical Hindus WITH the BOMB turning them on us attacking the Christian west, America?? Where are the Sanctions? We need to attack them over there BEFORE they can get us here , right? Are we blind to the threat or maybe ... it's not really a national threat?
Yes, you've brought it up before.
I know, i like to talk about it allot, because people who take the 'If we're involved in the world we shouldn't be surprised if the world takes issue.' don't like to talk about it much.
So i'm guess, using your philosophy, America put itself in the firing line, and deserves whatever comes its way, because it 'took issue with' and stopped a genocide?

Many of those who persecuted Christians in India are themselves becoming Christian. Kandhamal proves Tertullian right.

GADRAGAM, India — Two dozen Christians were dancing excitedly to the tune of Christian hymns on New Year’s Day at Gadragam village in the Indian state of Orissa.
That may not be a surprise, considering the red-letter day. But this is the Kandhamal jungles of eastern Orissa state, where just a few years ago, fundamentalist Hindus let loose a severe attack on their Christian neighbors (http://www.ncregister.com/site/article/india-tribunal-indicts-local-government/), taking the lives of more than 100 people.
Plus, the rejoicing was in front of the remains of a burnt-out house in which a disabled Christian youth had been burned to death during the widespread violence.
“Our people are no longer afraid; they are ready to profess their faith boldly,” exclaimed Rabindra Pradhan, elder brother of 28-year-old Rasanand Pradhan, who was torched alive in his house during the orchestrated anti-Christian violence in Kandhamal.
“The martyrdom of my brother has not gone in vain. Half a dozen Hindu families are now regularly attending our worship,” pointed out the retired Indian soldier.
Disabled by stroke, his younger brother Rasanand was the first martyr among the Christians who laid down their lives in Kandhamal for their faith during the worst persecution of Christians in Indian history.
Following the killing of Hindu leader Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati on Aug. 23, 2008, Hindu fundamentalists alleged that the murder was a Christian conspiracy. Despite Maoist rebel claims of responsibility for the murder, Hindu mobs went on a rampage against the Christians in the region.
In the widespread violence that went on unabated for weeks, in addition to the many deaths, 300 churches and nearly 6,000 houses were looted and torched, rendering more than 54,000 Christians homeless....

and here's some more hope for change..
1 January, 2007: Millions of Muslim converts to Christianity celebrated Christmas throughout the world. According the reports of the various missionary organizations and news medias.
The Salem Voice Ministries evangelizing Muslims in India and many other Muslim nations. There are about 500 evangelists ministering among Muslims in different African, Middle East and Asian countries. A vast number of Muslims finding the truth and attaining Salvation of Jesus Christ day by day.
'More Muslims converted to faith in Jesus Christ over the past decade than at any other time in human history. A spiritual revolution is underway throughout North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. As a result, a record number of ex-Muslims are celebrating Christmas this year, despite intense persecution, assassinations, and widespread church bombings'. These are the words of Joel C. Rosenberg, the author of the New York Times best selling political thriller.
He said, he and his wife and kids were lived in the Mideast for three months. During that time, he had the privilege of interviewing more than three dozen Arab and Iranian pastors and evangelical leaders throughout the region. The picture they paint is one of Christianity being dramatically resurrected in the region of its birth.
More than 10,000 Muslims accepted Jesus Christ as their personal saviour throughout India during the last year. The Bible Society of India publishing thousands of New Testaments for the Muslims with their own terminology and vocabulary in different Indian languages and Tazi language. Pastor Paul Ciniraj Mohamed, the Director of the Salem Voice Ministries is one of the key persons of the Bible translators of the Bible Society of India to reach the Gospel to the Muslims. He is in the midst of persecution. Recently also he was threatened by the extremists to count down his days along with the whole family.
In Iraq, more than 5,000 Muslim converts to Christianity have been identified since the end of major combat operations, with 14 new churches opened in Baghdad, and dozens of new churches opened in Kurdistan, some of which have 500 to 800 members. Also, more than one million Bibles shipped into the country since 2003, and pastors report Iraqis are snatching them up so fast they constantly need more Bibles.
Thousands of Muslims turned to Christ and worshipping Lord Jesus in Morocco, Somalia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Maldives.
Around a million believed in Jesus over the past decade in Egypt. The Egyptian Bible Society used to sell about 3,000 copies of the JESUS film a year in the early 1990s. As per the figures taken from the Millennium campaign in 2000, they sold 600,000 copies, plus 750,000 copies of the individual cassette tapes (in Arabic) and about a half million copies of the Arabic New Testament. Ramez Atallah, the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Egypt informed Pastor Paul Ciniraj by email. "Egyptians are increasingly hungry for God's Word," he said.
'Last Christmas, I had the privilege of visiting the largest Christian congregation in the Middle East, which meets in an enormous cave on the outskirts of Cairo. Some 10,000 believers worship there every weekend. A prayer conference the church held in May 2005 drew some 20,000 believers', Rosenberg told.
There were only 17 Christians from Islam in Afghanistan on 2001. But there are more than 10,000 believers at present. Every week dozens of baptisms being held there....
Hearts and minds
... In Sudan, more than one million have converted since 2000, and some 5 million have become Christians since the early 1990s, despite a radical Islamic regime and an on-going genocide that has killed more than 200,000. Seminaries are being held in caves to train pastors to shepherd the huge numbers of people coming to Christ. Why such a dramatic spiritual awakening? "People have seen real Islam, and they want Jesus instead," one Sudanese evangelical leader said.
In December 2001, Sheikh Ahmad al Qataani, a leading Saudi cleric, appeared on a live interview on Al-Jazeera satellite television to confirm that, sure enough, Muslims were turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. "In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity," Al Qataani warned. "Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity."
Stunned, the interviewer interrupted the cleric. "Hold on! Let me clarify. Do we have six million converting from Islam to Christianity?" Al Qataani repeated his assertion. "Every year," the cleric confirmed, adding, "a tragedy has happened."..
