.Aside from Gingrich’s disloyalty to his wives and his willing participation with the progressive’s attack upon freedom of speech when he co-sponsored the “Fairness in Broadcasting Act of 1987“, Gingrich also spat upon our Constitution when he worked with Clinton to adopt the NAFTA which unconstitutionally transferred Congress’ power to regulate America’s commerce with foreign nations to “Bi-national Panels” ___ a majority of Panel members being foreigners ___ who are now making binding decisions concerning America’s commerce with Canada and Mexico. See Establishment of Bi-national Panels (http://www.sice.oas.org/trade/nafta/chap-192.asp#An1901.2)
In addition, Gingrich was also in favor of Most Favored Trade Status for China’s communist government in 1998, a government which forbids working people to negotiate the value of their own labor.
In fact, the Chinese government dictates a working person’s earned wage in China, which happens to be a slave labor wage. Additionally, products thus produced under slave labor wages and by children working under extremely dangerous work environmental conditions, are exported into America duty free to compete with America’s domestic products. This is what Newt Gingrich calls “free trade“. Allowing products produced under slave labor and under dangerous work environmental conditions, to compete on our soil with products produced by America’s work force where people are free to negotiate the value of their own labor and work under conditions regulated to insure the safety of workers. “House Speaker Newt Gingrich welcomed Clintons recommendation for renewing MFN status for China, and vowed to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure that China receives it from Congress.
America is now paying the price for the Clinton/Gingrich love affair with China’s manufacturing base which is fueled by slave labor and is allowed to import its products into America duty free and undercut the price of products produced in America’s free market system where a working person is free to negotiate the value of their labor. What Clinton and Gingrich fail to realize is, “free trade” begins with working people being free to negotiate the value of their own labor and is why America ended slavery in 1865!
Are we really to expect Gingrich, who has long represented and advanced the interests of international corporate giants who have no allegiance to America or any nation, to miraculously follow our founding fathers America first policy which was repeatedly articulated by our founders during the creation of our Nation’s first revenue raising Act (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/cgi-bin/ampage?collId=llac&fileName=001/llac001.db&recNum=55)? The answer is a resounding no when judging Gingrich‘s pandering to dictatorial governments and international corporate giants who have no allegiance to America or any nation.
Thank you for helping to create full employment in China Mr. Gingrich. Now, how about packing your bags and moving there?
