Japanese Department Store May Want to Look Up the Word ‘Fucking’

If only we could have sat in on the meeting where the marketing team for this Osaka department store came up with the idea for their "Fuckin' Sale," spotted early this month by a reader of Jake Adelstein's Japan Subculture blog (http://www.japansubculture.com/2012/01/its-no-ordinary-sale-its-a-fuckin-sale/).
-There should be some cool English words on these signs.
-How about "Fuckin' Sale?"
-What's that mean?
-Fuckin' means, like, really good. So it's a really good sale.
-And there's no other meaning to "fuckin'? Nothing at all that might embarrass us on the internet? Remember what happened with our Save-a-Shit-Ton promotion…

lol, actually I'm pretty sure they know what it means. You can swear on Japanese basic cable. Seriously, in the series Naruto, he keeps saying "Believe it!" in the English dub, but in the Japanese, he's a total foulmouth who swears all the time, so much so that they to tack on words in English to cover the lip movements. His favorite was God Damn, and it was a kid's show. Fuck is not with the shameful reverence over there that we have over here.
