And just for record, that big ole' red truck has a 350 Vortec in it with a cold air intake, flow master exhaust, and the ECM has a performance upgrade download in it. Top that off with a five speed manual. It'll smoke the 35" tires on it.

The guy was on my ass for 3 miles on an empty interstate, three lanes in our direction, center lane. We came to te bottom of a long uphill grade, and I just slowly let off the gas. He lost all his momentum and was never able to catch back up to me. :laugh2:

I'm a died in the wool hotrod/mechanic. Have been all my life. It's in my blood. I can't help it. The bigger, louder, more powerful, cool something is, the better I like it. There's lots of people just like me around. The country is packed full of hotrod clubs, Corvette clubs, street rod clubs, customs clubs, on and on. America basically has had a long affair with the car. Just to what extreme you like your car/truck to be is a personal taste issue.

I used to drive a 2004 Freightliner Columbia. It had a 460 hp Series 60 Detriot diesel in it, and it had like 1,500 ft. lbs. of torque, or some outrageous amount like that, with a nine speed tranny. It would pull 60,000 lbs up a 5% grade at speed. If you'd have slowed down in front of me, I'd just have passed you. :D

I had a boat load of Chevys Gunny. This is my first GMC. Not really a whole lot of difference, but I really like the front end on this GMC better than the Chevy, meaning the grill and such. I think it's cool. I really like this body style, and I've heard of guys putting straight axles under these and getting rid of the independent front suspension. Makes them a lot stronger off roaders. I don't believe I'd ever do anything like that to this one. They ride real nice with that front end, and I'm pretty sure I'd never use this one for serious off roading anyway. It's too pretty. I'd buy a little old jeep for that.

Probably some young punk with an attitude. He/she deserved what you did with that being the case. Or an old punk. I couldn't see him or her behind the radiator. Most truckers are responsible people, and they have a very difficult job with little 4 wheelers pulling out in front of them all day long, oblivious to the fact that it takes such a long time to stop.

This is my first GMC. Traded a 98 Z78 Silverado for it.
I'm looking at some old jeeps right now. What I'd REALLY like to find is a 67-68 Bronco. Put 9" straight axles front and rear, and build my own 302 to drop in it.
