Howdy y'all.
Long time no post, I know.
Anyhoo... I attended the Fair Tax rally in Columbia, SC, this past Tuesday. It was the first time I've ever attended a political rally of any sort, so you could say I got my activist cherry popped.
It was an awesome experience... if you've got a passion for any political idea, even if it's opposed to my ideas, I suggest you go try something like a rally out. It was one heck of an experience.
Anyhoo, I know there are a few Fair Tax supporters on here, so this thread is for you guys. Imagine this... it's a Tuesday afternoon in the little South Carolina town of Columbia. It's close to nothing. Atlanta is over three hours away. The only thing going on is a little GOP debate across the street from our rally. So, how many people do you think would show up in Columbia? A few dozen? Maybe five hundred?
Try about 8500!!!
WOW!
Here's a slideshow of pics taken with my admittedly crappy camera. Many were taken while I was walking, so they're really blurry. All apologies.

Here are some videos I put together. Three are speeches made to the ralliers by GOP presidential candidates. The last is John Stossel. I'll add Neal Boortz's speech later. It's long & it's taking a while to get the format right so it'll fit on YouTube.
But first, here's a 45 second very blurry clip of the crowd...

Mike Huckabee (the guy who promoted the Fair Tax during the debate)

John Stossel

Now, before anyone starts thinking this is a "republican" plan, let me point out that Stossel & Boortz are Libertarians. Mike Gravel, one of the Democratic hopefuls is a Democrat. The bill has 60 co-sponsors in the house... of course, they come from both parties!
