Well something is going on. Internal? Israel? US?

A second Iranian nuclear facility has exploded, as diplomatic tensions rise between the West and Tehran

Satellite imagery seen by The Times confirmed that a blast that rocked the city of Isfahan on Monday struck the uranium enrichment facility there, despite denials by Tehran.
The images clearly showed billowing smoke and destruction, negating Iranian claims yesterday that no such explosion had taken place. Israeli intelligence officials told The Times that there was "no doubt" that the blast struck the nuclear facilities at Isfahan and that it was "no accident".
The explosion at Iran's third-largest city came as satellite images emerged of the damage caused by one at a military base outside Tehran two weeks ago that killed about 30 members of the Revolutionary Guard, including General Hassan Moghaddam, the head of the Iranian missile defence program.
DIPLOMATIC tensions are rising between the West and Iran over its nuclear program after protesters stormed Britain's embassy in Tehran.
Iran claimed that the Tehran explosion occurred during testing on a new weapons system designed to strike at Israel. But several Israeli officials have confirmed that the blast was intentional and part of an effort to target Iran's nuclear weapons program.
On Monday, Isfahan residents reported a blast that shook tower blocks in the city at about 2.40pm and seeing a cloud of smoke rising over the nuclear facility on the edge of the city.
"This caused damage to the facilities in Isfahan, particularly to the elements we believe were involved in storage of raw materials," said one military intelligence source.
He would not confirm or deny Israel's involvement in the blast, instead saying that there were "many different parties looking to sabotage, stop or coerce Iran into stopping its nuclear weapons program"...

Nothing like well planned successful covert operations. :2up:
interesting that they'd try and hush it up, anyways, can't say i'll cry for their loss but i hope no-one was killed.

My money would be on Mossad, but that raid on the British Embassy gives one pause.

So who's causing all these mysterious explosions in and around Iranian nuclear facilities?
Some are saying that they are simply accidents. When you have missiles and rocket fuel and warheads around, sometimes things go boom.
Other are saying the Israelis are doing it. They would certainly have motivation - does anyone have any doubt who would be the preferred target of an Iranian nuke? The Israelis bombed an Iraqi nuclear reactor in the 1990s to prevent it from producing fuel for Iraqi nuclear weapons. But they straightforwardly used fighter jets, stripped down for maximum range and carrying lots of fuel and only a few bombs each. Iran is much farther away. Do the Israelis even have a plane capable of carrying a bomb, that can reach Iran?
Maybe a covert Israeli Special-Forces team, inserted in some unknown, undetected way, and then recovered by an even more mysterious but equally undetected way? Maybe by those same aircraft that still can't reach Iran from Israel?
But there is another possiblity.
All we really know is that something has gone BOOM, more than once, in more than one Iranian nuclear facility. No sign of any aircraft in the area (unlike the Israeli raid against that Iraqi reactor). And it's difficult to believe that ANYONE could go in on the ground and get inside a nuclear facility with a large enough bomb to do that much damage... without being detected.
But... recall that during Gulf War I Continued, in the 2000s, a number of bombing missions were staged by U.S. Air Force B-2 stealth bombers. Some came from the island of Diego Garcia... but most of them took off from their home base in Missouri, and flew literally halfway around the world, refueling in the air again and again, dropping their precision bombs on Iraqi targets, and flying all the way back (with more aerial refueling) to Missouri.
And the first few times this was done, the Iraqis didn't even know they'd been bombed. The planes were impossible to detect on radar, and they flew very high, above 30,000 feet, and could not be heard or seen. It was an ordinary day in Baghdad, with people walking around and children playing in the parks, when suddenly a government building halfway down the block exploded and collapsed. Officials assumed at first it was an accident (natural gas explosion?), or possibly sabotage by someone who had planted one or more bombs inside the building. Only when the U.S. announced details of the mission, did Iraq realize what had happened.
Hmmm... I wonder if there was maybe an isolated B-2 bomber at the base in Missouri, that was quietly wheeled into a hangar one evening, and the doors closed and locked for maybe a week so nobody could see what was inside? And maybe nobody noticed when the hangar doors quietly opened, maybe at 3AM in the morning, the plane wheeled out and took off as the hangar doors closed again? And anybody who asked, was told that of course that B-2 was still inside? And then several days later, maybe a plane landed quietly at 2AM, the hangar doors opened and the plane wheeled inside, the doors closing immediately?
And did one of these mysterious explosions at an Iranian nuclear facility, take place sometime during the period when the plane was ostensibly still inside the hangar? And no aircraft were seen or heard in that part of Iran, nor were any picked up on radar?
And did any of the various refueling planes stationed around the world, happen to fly any "training" missions" during that time?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Or do they?

I'd like to believe we had the balls to do it, but under this admin? Perhaps the Israeli's have their own version of a B-2 that is even more top secret.

Why would the Israelis need to fly all the way from Israel when they can easily have Israeli planes "on a training mission" at one of our many strategically located U.S. Airbases in Iran's neighbor countries of Iraq or Afghanistan?

I don't think the US would do this. I find it hard to believe this was dropped from planes, having seen the sat pics. Seriously looks like on the ground issues. Either coincidences, doubtful or someone within their program are doing this.

I would put even money on Israel having at least one B2 of their own.
