First they need to write and pass a budget. Major fail. It's been over 900 days since the US government had one:

To be honest I got it below the 60 but I didn't know what alot of the stuff in there was that i was cutting, pretty much I took all medical expenses off the shelf and war expenses.

Ok, I should have looked at the link, hell have recognized the link. Most people that go through that, with the idea of getting control of the budget can do so. The problem comes though when they realize what the cuts mean. Still, the longer put off, the worse things will be.

That people aren't outraged at the spending, with no budget just blows my mind!

I did, a long time ago, then again, I'm a hard-hearted Conservative. ;) I cut defense drastically, but basically cut back all programs that are entitlements, eliminating quite a few. Stopped foreign spending. If those things were suddenly done, it would cause great problems, anyone thinking differently only needs to look at Greece or Egypt or France or ...

Real austerity has huge costs on people's lives-health, nutrition, etc.

What a stupid exercise. Taxes cuts only "cost" money and aren't dynamically scored. Same old Washington.
