This is a subject that has always intrigued me. What do you really think goes on there? Could it be Alien activity? Doubt it. Probably an aircraft design and testing facility as Boeing and Lockeed have registered hangars there. Here are a couple of cool links ive found.........
http://www.lazygranch.com/janair.htm The planes that take the workers of Groom Lake (Area 51) from the Las Vegas aiport to groom lake.

I also just found that they stationed the Predator Unmanned Aircraft Squadrin at the Indian Springs Air Force Base which is on the property of Area 51. That base you can see while your driving to Las Vegas, it used to be a old base running on what seemed to be a skeleton crew. You never saw activity, but you constantly saw military vehicles. Also if you drive by Area 51 at night the whole hill lights up, it's kinda neat to look at it. If your lucky you will see aircraft flying as well.
You have got to remember about 100 miles away is the TTR (Tonopah Test Range) where they kept the Stealth squadron from the date it was put into commission until the 90's I believe. The TTR is on the same restricted air space as Area 51 and Nellis Airforce Base in Las Vegas. Nellis Airforce Base is believed to be the command for these two bases as all correspondance and requests go through Nellis AFB. The Janet planes I talked about earlier goto the TTR as well and also Edwards Air Force Base which does house highly classified aircraft.
Another thing that makes you think is about 120 miles from the TTR is the Falon Naval Air Station which the Top Gun fighter school was moved to, considence, maybe, maybe not?

Possibly a copy the security manual that was leaked from Area 51.It's amazing how the Government says it doesn't exist but all these photos on the links i've provided seem to prove otherwise.

Maybe all those facilities are like a Mafia store -just a front for the secret activity going on behind. :) :dunno:

if it is a place for top secret testing, then all the security and close by air-'handable' places would make sense. would you rather glide down or crash in the desert?

It's a well-known fact that the fed government puts money into what it calls "black-budget items." I think Groome Lake is a testing facility for experimental government-funded technology. That's where they developed stealth tech, probably vel-cro and other stuff too. :)

Could be. If you look at the Dreamland page http://www.dreamlandresort.com/ and http://www.dreamlandresort.com/area51/panorama_0901.html you can see the satellite pics of Area 51 and there is a hangar known as Hangar 18 that could fit a B747 completly in it. There is speculation that there is a huge elevator in there that goes to some secret research facility. I think the press release about the Preditor Squadron that is stationed there is a cover to direct attention off all the R&D that goes on. I also just read that Lathrop Grumman(spelling) has a Hangar there. So we have three top aircraft manufacturers there so they have to be working on new classified aircraft but is that all they are working ok?

Actually the Stealth was developed at the TTR (Tonopah Test Range) which is in the same restricted area as Groom Lake. It was tested extensivly at Groom Lake and then moved back to TTR until it was shipped out to other bases. I totally agree with your statement about the Black Projects, from what ive read Groom Lake, TTR, Nellis AFB, Edwards AFB, Wright-Patterson AFB, Hill AFB in Utah which some people are saying that is the home of the Roswell remains and Groom Lake is just a cover for that but thats far fetched. Some people also say the remains of Roswell is at Wright-Patterson, which I could see as it's security is as tight as Groom Lake and there are some pretty credible sources who have talked about the remains being there for a few years then moved to an undisclosed location, I wonder where LOL. As far as Roswell, ,I know there is more to it then the Government is saying, they were on top of it way to quick and had way to many personel coming in from across the country for it to be a weather balloon.
Another thing ive found that is interesting that there might actually be Men in Black. Not doing what the movie says but more of a Government agency designed to silence and destroy any credible UFO signtings or information. Unsolved Mysteries did a piece on it long before the movie came out and these people have been around since the 1950's. Some believe they are from Norad or a classified USAF security team, but who knows.

Look at the runways and equipment stored there and faclilities and storage. Then look at how agressive the security is. If there were just building engines then that could be done at a regular Air Base under tight security. An engine can be designed in a hangar but an aircraft you have to have test flights. Then you have companies like Boeing and Lockheed who have hangars there and they make more then engines.

I've read about the MIB before. They're probably the same guys who fly the "black helicopters." I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out about some secret government enforcement agency. I also think the secrecy over the Roswell incident is way to over the top for it to have been a weather balloon. I'm more inclined to think that it was some sort of satellite or jet technology or something.
As for UFOs, I've actually seen one. Me and my dad saw it one night coming home. The thing moved just like they did on the X-Files--really smooth and fast. It also stopped very suddenly and floated just like you always hear. I'm more inclined to think UFOs are some sort of atmospheric phenomenon rather than aliens though. The idea of aliens just seems silly to me. :dunno:

You might be right, but you never know. Look how big the universe is to think were the only ones out there is obserd. I think if Roswell was some top secret Jet technology or satellite the Military would have been there right away not after the local farmer call the authorities. It really isn't hard to believe that an Alien craft has crashed. Maybe they were hear to warn us? I mean look at all the Atomic testing we were doing at the time. They probably figured we were a bunch of retards and were gonna destroy civilization. They tested a ton of the atomic explosives right by Area 51. That is kinda close to Roswell, and of course the Manhattan Project which was in Las Alamos New Mexico, thats kinda close to Roswell. You never know. I think it is interesting that the Nevada Atomic Test Range was created about the same time as Area 51, could there be a link? Im sure there is.

I think Area 51 is strictly a military testing facility. Anything like aliens would be somewhere with less notariety and ulta high security.
The MIB's are a real posibilty. Their purpose would be to keep the few that are knowledgeable of things in line and quiet. Also to put out disinformation about sightings.
Ever see the goofballs that would claim to have met aliens and traveled in the ships to other planets. They give silly discriptions of the aliens and what the aliens want etc. That's to discredit anyone that comes forward with real information.
My favorite government explaination for a sighting of a metal object, "it's swamp gas".
I've seen ufo's twice. neither time were they weather phenomina. They were solid objects.

Well, I won't go into detail, but I did see some rather... odd... flight patterns there at night. Whether or not they were extraterrestrial in nature, I can't say.

It didn't have any notariety until Bob Lezar an employee came forward to the public. Think about it, when it was created that area of Nevada was basicall untouched and perfect for Black Book Projects.

I have one question for those who claim that UFO's are government test aircraft. Why in hell would anyone who wants to keep something super secret fly it over a populated area where it can be observed and filmed?

One night.....I was out walking around at 3:oo in the am. For what reason I was walking around at 3 near Roswell I have no idea, but I seen one of dim little gren men. He has a lazer beam and he shot me with it. Then I was in this big space ship. There was dese little men there. (why are they always men, are there no female aliens). They wuz real nice fellers. They spoke English too. I wunder where they learned that. Anyway.....they took me for a ride in outer space, yup, they did. Then they brung me home. Now I live in Roswell, NM and own a shop that sells genuine UFO stuff. They are some other folk here that sell it to but they is lying.

The area around Area-51 is pretty remote. Not many people live around it. It is well know that it is a test location for Aircraft as Boeing Lockheed and one other aircraft contractor have listed hangars at the Indian Springs airbase which is Area-51. Look at the new satellite pics of Area-51 taken last month. There are new hangars being built including one that can easily hold a jet larger then a 747.

Granted. The area is remote and you expect that in areas set aside for testing. So why would an aircraft like that be flown over a city or populated area. I have heard that said many times, that it was probably some super secret aircraft the military was testing. That's the reason it hovered in one place and shot off at mach 10. With hundreds of people watching go through its maneuvers. Makes sense to me if you want to keep it classified.

That is exactly the kind of scenario the government and news media love to present. You have honest sightings by real people being followed by yahoo's like that. Therefore all sightings are dismissed as loonies. You would think they would at least get loonies with a little imagination.

I didn't say sighting were all Military or Test Aircraft. Just the sightings in that area more then likely are.
