I'm looking for information regarding whether targeted sterilization within a given population is/ would be more effective at reducing total population size when it targets both sexes equally when it focuses on males or females and how this relates to sexual practices and the differences in sexual behaviors between the sexes. Studies regarding multiple primate species would be of most value, though I imagine data regarding stray cats and animals more widely available, both in terms of hypothetical predictions and any actual experiments or programs that might have been carried out at some point. If anyone can help in locating such information, it would be appreciated.
