Iwonder if the left and liberal media will try to blame Bush for this?

King Electrical Services (http://www.debatepolicy.com/#) owner John King was shot by a person who appears to be from one of the many unions who have targeted his workers, Toledo News Channel 11 WTOL reports (http://www.wtol.com/story/15273318/lambertville-vandalism-turns-life-threatening?clienttype=printable). King is the largest non-union electrical contractor (http://www.debatepolicy.com/#) company in the area of southeastern Michigan near the Ohio border.

He has a long history of being on the receiving end of union-related violence, and this case doesn’t appear to be any different. Before shooting him, the gunman etched the word “SCAB” into the side of King’s SUV.

The altercation started when King woke up late last Wednesday to find someone in his driveway. He described the intruder as a “silhouette figure” because he didn’t see the person clearly enough to offer a description. The individual was attempting to vandalize his SUV. When King went outside his Lambertville, Mich., home to confront the person, the vandal shot him in the arm.

Labor unions have attempted, unsuccessfully, to organize King’s employees, and he has been subjected to one legal nightmare after another in the process.

“Since he’s been in business, in addition to the legal battles and verbal abuse, King’s company has been vandalized and threatened on numerous occasions,” LaborUnionReport.com reports (http://www.laborunionreport.com/portal/2011/08/developing-ohio-business-owner-shot-for-being-non-union-police-investigating/). “Unfortunately, the vandalism has never stopped. This year alone, he’s had to report three incidents of damage to police. This doesn’t include the incidents of stalking he and his men have to go through while they’re working.

“In one incident earlier this year, rocks were thrown through the front windows of his shop, one of which had the word ‘kill’ written on it.”

King once joked that the “ice pick” was union organizers’ “weapon of choice” for destroying property and slashing his and his employees’ tires. But he’s not joking anymore after an armed gunman almost took his life.

“We’re in fear a little bit,” King told WTOL. “I have to admit, it’s a little tougher to sleep at night.”

and the liberal media is ignoring this story

An Ohio contractor was wounded by gunfire Wednesday by a shadowy man vandalizing his SUV with union threats. Where's Washington's outrage at such lawlessness?
Had King Electrical Services (http://www.debatepolicy.com/#) owner John King been shot by, say, a Tea Partyer, there'd be no end to the public pontificating from Washington's politicians and media commentators about their rhetoric or protests inciting violence.

It's quite a different story for the Lambertville, Mich., contractor who woke up in the dead of night a week ago found a silhouetted figure on his driveway spraying "SCAB" on the side of his vehicle. The figure fired a gun at him before fleeing.

King runs a small business employing 40 people at high wages with good benefits. His success at a time when unionized contractors are failing made him the target of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), which has unsuccessfully sought to unionize his workers.

Now it's come down to guns, and Washington's chattering classes (http://www.debatepolicy.com/#) are strangely silent.
The attack on King is emblematic of the sad fact that the leading perpetrators of political violence today are U.S. labor unions.

They've grown more violent in their rhetoric as their political power grows and their appeal to workers diminishes.

Verizon wins injunction against striking workers after reports of vandalism, violence and harrassment

Ironically, section J is one that would normally go without saying, yet is clearly stated: ”Dropping, spreading, throwing, placing or otherwise causing nails, glass, cinder block, spikes, feces, clubs, rocks, screws, or puncture devices of any kind, or other object or debris to be thrown or strewn in, on, or about Verizon’s driveways, parking lots, entrances, exits, vehicles and adjoining roads to any of Verizon’s property or at any work site.”
The order took effect immediately after its filing on August 11th. IBEW 827 agreed to the proposal and posted a $50,000 bond for payment of incurred future damages.
The injunction was sought by Verizon after a series of incidents across New Jersey and other states affected by the strike. In Toms River, Verizon reported FIOS cables were sabotaged and cut, causing an outage and Toms River Police reported striking workers placed nails at the entrance to the company’s Hooper Avenue office.
However, Verizon spokes person Lee Gierczynski said many of the employees in the strike are obeying the law. “The vast majority of our workforce is dedicated, hard-working and committed to doing what’s right for our customers. Unfortunately, there are few bad apples who are tarnishing the reputation of the entire union-represented workforce. ” he said “Our company is taking steps to ensure those who have engaged in illegal and reckless actions they will be dealt with appropriately. Rest assured, we will deal firmly with anyone we can identify. We fully believe those on strike have a right to legally picket and protest. Some, however, have gone to extremes.”
