Obama's Speech Shows Debt Deal Accomplished Nothing

As soon as the Senate signed off on the debt deal, Obama gave another campaign speech and had a list of demands from Congress

Obama wants more tax increases on the folks who are already paying a huge majority of the taxes collected

Obama wants a "stimulus" to repair our roads and bridges. I thougth we already had a trillion dollar stimulus to do that?

Obama wants to extend unemployment benefits and continue to pay people not to work

Obama also said the Congress took a small step to CUT spending which is a lie since spending is INCREASING

So Obama showed nothing has changed, and it will continue to be business as usual in DC

and the taxpayer will continue to be soaked for more of the money they earn

I disagree, it shows he was mostly irrelevant to the process. The Republicans can build on that as we move into the elections next year and as they start the budget process which must begin in the chamber they control.

You do understand that the Republicans control only 1/2 of 1/3 of government with only a slight majority even in their 1/2 at this point don't you? They can't even get all of what they want passed in their 1/3 let alone get past the one person that controls another 1/3.

R's gave into to Obama who has approval numbers in the 40's and whith his policies that a majority of voters oppose. Stand firm and make them veto your bills. The voters will see what is going on

Many people know this was a sellout over fear. R's were worried people like Chris Matthews were going to get away with blaming them for a default and downgrade.

Even with this economy, the unemployment, and another recession they can't stand up to Obama - when will they?
