SS's still paying for itself (via the surplus funds it took in over decades before recently beginning to pay out more than it takes in). As one of the most successful and fiscally responsible programs to ever come out of D.C.- and a lifeline for our seniours and disabled- it's the last thing they should be fighting over or playing chicken with.
