George Washington's warnings and U.S. policy towards Israel
University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes -- July 1, 2008 (http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/international_security_bt/503.php?lb=btis&pnt=503&nid=&id=):
A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 18 countries finds that in 14 of them people mostly say their government should not take sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Just three countries favor taking the Palestinian side (Egypt, Iran, and Turkey) and one is divided (India). No country favors taking Israel's side, including the United States, where 71 percent favor taking neither side.

George Washington's warnings and U.S. policy towards Israel:
There sure is a lot of agreeing going on -- one might describe it as "absolute." The degree of mandated orthodoxy on the Israel question among America's political elites is so great that if one took the statements on Gaza from George Bush, Pelosi, Hoyer, Berman, Ros-Lehtinen, and randomly chosen Bill Kristol-acolytes and redacted their names, it would be impossible to know which statements came from whom. They're all identical: what Israel does is absolutely right. The U.S. must fully and unconditionally support Israel. Israel does not merit an iota of criticism for what it is doing. It bears none of the blame for this conflict. No questioning even of the wisdom of its decisions -- let alone the justifiability -- is uttered. No deviation from that script takes place.
By itself, the degree of full-fledged, absolute agreement -- down to the syllable -- among America's political leaders is striking, even when one acknowledges the constant convergence between the leadership of both parties. But it becomes even more striking in light of the bizarre fact that the consensus view -- that America must unquestioningly stand on Israel's side and support it, not just in this conflict but in all of Israel's various wars -- is a view which 7 out of 10 Americans reject. Conversely, the view which 70% of Americans embrace -- that the U.S. should be neutral and even-handed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict generally -- is one that no mainstream politician would dare express.
In a democracy, one could expect that politicians would be afraid to express a view that 70% of the citizens oppose. Yet here we have the exact opposite situation: no mainstream politician would dare express the view that 70% of Americans support; instead, the universal piety is the one that only a small minority accept. Isn't that fairly compelling evidence of the complete disconnect between our political elites and the people they purportedly represent?

"Populism, Direct Democracy, Government by Referendum..."
All things our Founding Fathers and the ratifiers of the Constitution agreed (at the end of the day) are abhorrent to a stable republic.

the poll wasn't done by salon.com, as you can see it was conducted by the wolrd puplic opinion which is a program run by the university of maryland, and it clearly shows the numbers of people around the world who doesn't agree with supporting israel, even in USA, so i am not bringing any arabian sources or fake sources for you to doubt the data, unless you want to doubt the university of maryland, that would be another issue, please tell me next time which sources do you like so that i can use them, as you seem to doubt all my sources even if they come from american universities and from american people, is anyone or anything against your ideas a false source ?
about the article, i copied what's important, that the elected congress doesn't represent the real wishes of the american people, they just want to please the AIPAC and Israel so that they can get help to be elected again, same goes for presidents and even presedential candidates, they have to spend the whole 4 years pleasing the AIPAC in the senate to be able to win the presidency in the coming election, its that simple, politics in your country is so corrupted and rotten, maybe i am wrong, but that's just the way it looks to me, you can correct me if i am wrong.

I would state that you are wrong and suggest that "taking neither side..."
including the United States, where 71 percent favor taking neither side.
... is not the same as withholding support from Israel and doesn't preclude supporting the only functioning democracy in the ME.
I think the author makes the wrong conclusion from the results and I think you overstate the impact of AIPAC on our election process.

I do doubt the university of maryland. Most universities in this country are far left with a socialist bias. I never believe polls. How were the questions worded? What countries were the respondents in? What were the education levels? What kind of jobs do they have? There's lots of factors to be considered and polls don't show that.
Yes there's a lot of corruption in our govt. We are working on that. It's not going to be easy. The muslim socialist controls the media and will use fraud and intimidation to stay in power. The next year will determine whether we do it legally or by rebellion. We are still the shining light of freedom in the world and the hope of billions of people who don't have any.

you can read the full report about the poll, it contain info about that, anyway, even if the poll doesn't satisfy your requirments, then at least it shows that many people, are against supporting israel and yet you never see that in your media.
sorry, but i fail to understand that "Muslim Social controls the media" !!!, last time i checked, jewish people were in control of most of the largest media corporations in USA, never seen a muslim in charge of one !!!
i sincerely hope the next year elections goes in the way you like it to be, good luck :salute:.

That's not what the question asked. It asked if people favor "taking sides." If it asked, "do you support Israel," you'd get a completely different result.

it seems to me that you are the one underestimation the impact of AIPAC on your election process.
review the speechs made by any presidential cadidate or any US president in front of the AIPAC, and you will notice what i have already stated.
without the support of the jew people in your country and the support of the AIPAC, no president will ever be elected, if you doubt that, then you can check my words, read about it, check the impact of AIPAC, listen carefully to the speechs, you will never find any US president try to please any group like they try to please AIPAC, AIPAC spends too much money on election to gain control over any candidate, and they does.

CNIF alleges Israel receives so much aid and special treatment because the US Congress is controlled by AIPAC, America's pro Israel lobby. Executive director Phillip Giraldi says Israel spends a lot of money on U.S. elections.
The Council for the National Interest Foundation says many members of Congress fear, if they don't always side with Israel, that they will face retaliation in their own re-election campaigns.
Giraldi is a former CIA counter terrorism expert. He questions why America gives aid to Israel when Israel conducts more espionage for profit against the US than any other US friendly country.
Retired Lt. Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski worked at the Pentagon and says Israel receives preferential treatment.

I was referring to the muslim socialist in the white house. A neo-muslim that doesn't practice the religion openly, but supports it fully. The one who said, in cairo, he stands with islam no matter what.
As for AIPAC, there are many more groups that have a lot more sway on elections than just them.

so you think Obama is standing with muslims !!!
what he said was just to gain support of muslims, to start good relations with muslims around that world that GWB have shattered.
and i remember him saying many times at AIPAC "American Commitement to israel security is rock solid and unchanging", never seen him talking about any of the palestinian rights, just the israelian ones, and yet you see him as a muslim ?
if he was like that, USA would be out of Iraq and Afghanistan by now.
