Should Parties Sit Together During State of the Umion Speech?

Talk about a waste of time and effort. Another liberal idea that will accomplish nothing but makes everyone involved fell real ggod about themselves

Also, it will make Obama look good when half the Chamber sits while the other half applaudes

DENVER -- Colorado Sen. Mark Udall is asking Democrats and Republicans to sit together rather than dividing up by party during the State of the Union speech.

The Democrat said Wednesday that the tradition of having the parties sit on opposite sides of the House chamber is a "negative symbol of the divisions in Congress."

He says the separate seating arrangement is only a custom, not a rule, and emphasizes differences and divisions. Udall has said the assassination attempt against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona could cool the hot political rhetoric.

President Barack Obama plans to deliver the State of the Union speech on Jan. 25. It's his second State of the Union speech and his fourth address to a joint session of the House and Senate.

Congress should stay home and watch what will be his second campaign speech this month on TV with the rest of us.

As for the SOTU, we all know it sucks and nothing he says will change that.

This is a lame attempt to pander to the liberal media and touchy feely types that think R's and D's sitting next to each other will actually change the "rone"

What these people do not get is it is not about the tone in DC it is about opposition to the policies and agenda of Obama

Nearly everything liberals do and say are based on how it helps/hurts them politically. They take polls on where they should go on vacation - what more do need to know about these people?

put them next to each other and watch the fisticuffs begin. How long into the speech before the fists start flying. It would make us more like socialist europe which is what they want.
