If you want to see something very cool, SL, look up AC-130 on youtube. They've got a howitzer and a couple of miniguns mounted in it, and when they open up on the Bad Guys it is truly impressive.

There's quite a few attacks on terrorists in Afghanistan taken from the AC-130 cameras.

Be warned, though, there are people getting killed in those clips. Doesn't bother me, personally, but that's why I didn't make a thread about it.

I rode on one of these coming back from Hawaii to Travis AFB. Just walking up the stairs was scary. They gave us a bag lunch and ear plugs.

C-130's are noisy and you sit along the wall in little canvas fold out seats. Ear plugs are a must. There are also C-120's and C-140's along with the AC. It's a very versatile aircraft. They can land on short runways due to the ability to reverse the engines for breaking. I believe they all carry the anti missile flares especially when going into a bad area. It is a cool video.
