That is a great site, especially for younger people. Personally I read a lot of journals, but I like to browse on sites like that. Thank you.

Bah!
I can't get above the rank of Private in the Armchair General game... I always considered myself fairly knowledgeable about history but they really throw some curveballs.
Anyone else do better?

Just got to the rank of Colonel with a score of 1811... it appears that the ranks jump from Sergeant to Colonel.
They've got some real obscure military questions in there.

Just got 2623, General rating!
Matt O that has all the high scores must be a robot. Either that or he's answered all of them and knows them... you get higher scores for faster answers.

Congrats NT!!! Are you a one star now? And that Matt character, probably designed the game and chose all the questions!
All those acronyms kill me!!!
If they ask me what this is, I can answer it.
ROFLMBO!!!
I got the answers about George Washington right!!! But, alas, I'm still a private.

What gets me are the obscure questions (at least to me) about Genghis Khan and his battles. And the land mines currently in use in the U.S. Military.

So ... from the website:
What is the most expensive piece of equipment ever built and what is it used for?

I'd have to say, off the top of my head, it's the B-2... either that or one of our Aircraft Carriers.
No, wait... the Missile Defense Shield.

Here's the description of the game...Pretty accurate I think.
Armchair General (http://military.discovery.com/games/armchair-general/armchair-general.html)
This game is specially designed to weed out the real military know-it-alls from the pretenders.
Now here's another game on the same site. Made it to level 5 before I ran out of ammo.
Discovery Channel Cannon Challenge (http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/future-weapons/games/cannon/cannon.html)
How's your aim? Test your firepower skills with our new Non-Line-Of-Sight cannons.

i got 2956, couldn't beat the high score although i answered all the question correctly, not even a single wrong answer ;)

PS: i forgot to mention that i cheated, i stopped the timer completely till i searched for each answer, some question were easy to search and others were very hard.

Yeah, I played that a few times and think I got to level 7 before I ran out... got lucky on a few shots.
My 7 year old son has potential being a Howitzer gunner, he got to level 4 all by himself! It's amazing how fast a young mind picks up on concepts when presented in a video game.

Oh, I didn't know you could stop the timer... I was doing it the hard way.
Oh, I didn't know you could stop the timer... I was doing it the hard way.
of course normally you couldnt, i just hacked the memory and stopped it, freezed IE, the timer on my screen stopped in each question, which allowed me to search for the answer before i stop the freezing to let the game show the next question, then freeze it again and so on, but of course the timer in the server didnt stop, thats why i got the lowest score in most of the questions, about 140 i think, if i could search more fast in one or two questions, i would have been the first in the score list ;)

Made it to the end of level 12 and missed the last target that's a missile that appears and disappears from it's silo. Final score of 127,700

Tried the game last night. Made it to level 9. Nice time killer. It's similar to a game called Scorch and another called Tanks.
