I think the parade of Bikers and cars all flying the American Flag on the way to school was the perfect thing to do.

Hopefully it sends a message to the misguided kids offended by the flag of the country they live in.

I'm not sure I buy the story regarding the decision to make him take down his flag being based on fearing for his safety. I think it was easier for that official to bully the one kid instead of sitting all the trouble maker mexican kids down and explaining basic American patriotism that obviously they have not been exposed to.

And I'll even bet that when the politician goes for the defense, he'll claim it was "for the safety of the children", because "anything" could happen to them while selling them in the park. And I'll even put money on the idea that he actually believes that, which is worse.

It's not even that they don't "want" people to do things on their own. The nanny state philosophy is a philosophy of fear and weakness. Clearly we are too weak to take common sense precautions, or that the 1 in a million chance that something might happen necessitates insane precautions.
