I gather you've never been in the Military nor been in the field, if you had you'd realized how ignorant that is :slap:

Actually you might want to check up on the people your insulting... It really isn't that hard to tell where Darrin has been and what he has done... All you have to do is READ his post.
He has been associated with the military since he was 18 years old....

If you haven't noticed we've been doing light jabs at each other if you bothered to look at our posts, we've been insulting each other which is rather common amongst military folks ya know ...... ;)

Nuke, Pagan is only upset because he was in the Navy.
That's why his retort to my 'does your girl let you pee standing up' made no sense.

We don't get bootcamp.
I appreciate your SGM...but it's borderline homo to throw up a pic of a guy honored for something you weren't a part of.
;)
I used something a little more effective than a M16...
Take your pick:
1992
1993

When one man brags about another man's accomplishment, and that other man is not a relative or close friend, it's kinda homo. Just sayin. But 'homo' never stopped the Navy, so...suppose the dress fits, eh?
Only you guys in Dept of the Navy have 'Boot Camp'. And no, I didn't post more pics of basic training. Do folks typically qualify on SAW, mounted on a HMMWV in your 'boot camp'? Or, live fire Stingers?

You didn't stand up on a Hmmwv and qualify w/ a SAW...and you didn't have a unit patch (See, in the Army, we wear the patch of the unit assigned, left shoulder)
AND you didn't fire a f'in FIM92A. :)
Again, only sailors, and maybe coast guard have 'boot camp'. Men go through basic combat training. You can google it if you're skeerd. It's probably not too late, either, as the Army can turn sailors into Soldiers.
:)

It was rare that a soldier or a sailor could qualify for the Air Force. They were always too fat or too dumb or both. Believe me. I worked in and with the recruiting office often and we tried our best to rescue those poor soles reaching out to us from the Army and Navy. Most of the time it was hopeless before it ever got to first base. You gotta get on the scales and the numbers are what they are and you gotta take the Air Force qualifications test batteries and again the numbers are what they are. It's only after these are satisfied that any further interest in the recruit can continue.
BTW, marteen, GREAT pic of you and Miss Andrea. Yall are a gorgeous pair and I wish the very best for you. Any chance on you needing a best man in the near future?

I don't know whether I had enough for the Corps either, Pagan. I did know I didn't want to dig that far but that certainly doesn't keep me from respecting every single one of them to the point of worshiping the ground they have walked upon and freed for us. Of course I am a respector of all military but I have a special place in my heart for Special Forces and all Marines. They have always bled more than any of the rest. Incredible courage, just plain incredible courage.

“The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!”
-- Elanor Roosevelt
I come in peace, I didn't bring artillery. But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I'll kill you all.
-- General James Mattis USMC, to Iraqi tribal leaders
Why in hell can't the Army do it if the Marines can. They are the same kind of men; why can't they be like Marines.
-- Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing, USA; 12 February 1918
If I had one more division like this First Marine Division I could win this war.
-- General Douglas McArthur - Korean War
You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth- and the amusing thing about it is that they are.
-- Father Kevin Keaney, Chaplain - Korean War

Those quotes are fantastic, Pagan, just fantastic. I've got freakin' tears running down my face feeling so good reading them!!!!!!! Maybe I'm just tired. I haven't had any sleep for about two days other than 5 to 10 minute cat naps. I don't know what I'm so strung out about but your quotes have absolutely made my day, or is it night?
Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!
