While some Dems are running away from pres obama during this election, one Dem could not care less about him
WASHINGTON - Rhode Island's Democratic gubernatorial hopeful has a sharp message for President Obama: "Shove it."
Obama, who jetted to the nation's smallest state on Monday, has refused to endorse his party's nominee, Frank Caprio.
The President is withholding his support as a favor to independent candidate Lincoln Chafee, a former GOP senator who endorsed Obama over Hillary Clinton and John McCain in the 2008 presidential election.
"Out of respect for his friend, Lincoln Chafee, the President decided not to get involved in this race," spokesman Bill Burton said.
That didn't seem to mean much to Caprio, who went off on Obama on a Providence radio station.
