Well... technically, a trillion and one comes after a trillion...

The next power of ten is 10 trillion, followed by 100 trillion

a thousand trillion is called a quadrillion

how big is a quadrillion? It's a one followed by 15 zeroes... or 1,000,000,000,000,000

a quadrillion seconds is about 32 million years

a quadrillion inches is 15 billion miles (about 5 times the distance from the Sun to Pluto, the farthest planet)

if you spent a million dollars a day it would take about 2.7 million years to spend a quadrillion dollars

So how many years until the US debt a googleplex...

And as a pedantic aside, Pluto is not a planet anymore, just a Kepler object.

I don't know ... I'd say... in a quadrillion years?

...

Yes, but saying "the furthest planet" makes the point better than saying "the nearest Kuiper Belt object"

I got this in an email and if also helps put things in persepctive

The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about this

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu is asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARS
To rebuild New Orleans .

Interesting number - what does it mean?

Well .. If you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child) each get $516,528.

Or... If you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

Or... If you are a family of four your family gets $2,066,012.

Here is a partial list of taxes the government has imposed on us

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this?

It's pretty surprising.

Well played. Now if we could only get some commercials and Billboards with the same info. People would start to pay more attention.

If the present Democrats were still in power....... about six months.

Fortunately, after Nov. 2 they won't be.
