There are just to many of these kinds of stories to me. Police have a hell of a Job and thank God for them but, what the hecks going on. What do they need to get some clarity on who they serve and what the role is. ANd not be afriad to put anther cop in jail. Or at least treat a suspected cop the same as a "civilian" suspect.

If a cop was a witness to a "civilian" murder. The perp would be in jail. until the investigation and trail. And the cops testimony would be nearly unquestioned.
