Quick reply

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I put it here.

What's up with the quick reply function? There's nothing quick about it. I'm used to a free text box to put quick replies in instead of going through the extra step of hitting 'reply' then posting your message. The quick reply function here has a box but you can't type messages into it - it's blocked. Hitting the 'quick reply' button causes a pop up that nags me about something and I close it and it's back to square one - nowhere.

What's so quick about it?

I think I figured it out, you have to click the icon in the post to activate the quick reply screen.

Again, it's not so quick. I might as well hit the reply button. Same number of steps.

It's over-engineered.
