How will the liberal media spin this survey? Are those self identified Dems and Independents now considered racists?

Four in 10 Tea Party members are either Democrats or Independents, according to a new national survey.

The findings provide one of the most detailed portraits to date of the grassroots movement that started last year.

The national breakdown of the Tea Party composition is 57 percent Republican, 28 percent Independent and 13 percent Democratic, according to three national polls by the Winston Group, a Republican-leaning firm that conducted the surveys on behalf of an education advocacy group. Two-thirds of the group call themselves conservative, 26 are moderate and 8 percent say they are liberal.

The Winston Group conducted three national telephone surveys of 1,000 registered voters between December and February. Of those polled, 17 percent – more than 500 people -- said they were “part of the Tea Party movement.”

“It’s a good sample size,” said David Winston, the polling firm’s director. “It will certainly give us an initial base to follow where these folks are.”

This may possibly present a problem for our glorious leader come election time.

If Obama doesn't get re-elected, how are they going to justify all those statues and streets their going to build and rename in his honor?

So we have Independents and some Demcoarts deserting Obama and the Dem party

NOW, if CONSERVATIVES can get their act together and coampaign on CONSERVATIVE principals - we can turn the clock back on this insanity and try and repair the damage that has been done

I've been saying this from the beginning and ANYONE who has bothered to go to one and listen to the people (liberalnation/gabby) would know that they are a diverse group of people.

There are people of difference races and political party. They are not the knuckle dragging racists that the msm is trying to label them as.

Yep .... sometimes I revert back to my childhood where I had to fight everyone and everything to survive and get ahead. I am definitely not afraid of a fight. I have a brother who is in prison for killing people and I was one of them he tried to kill. So, name calling does not intimidate me.

I suspect the Tea Party folks will continue to be smeared and called racists and Nazi's - until they start winning elections

Then the liberal media will turn on the people that voted for and with them

They will never accept the fact they are representing a majority of American voters

I doubt if Dems will admit they were wrong - even under their breath. They are to arrogant, and will think they were not liberal enough.

They wlil also think they were way reasonable and considerate to their political opponents

Plus, they will blame tak radio and Fox News for "drowning out their message"

Indeed. We've been saying the same from the beginning, anyone willing to speak out for freedoms, less government and lower taxes is welcome. Race, religion, and party preferences are not prerequisites.

Shouldn't be necessary to 'prove', they are there at every tea party, it's the media that has carefully avoided. I do have sympathy how the left keeps marginalizing minority participation in Conservative politics, but thanks to the new media, that is becoming more impossible.

It is a well known fact that blacks are not a very politically diverse group and rarely stray far from the Democrat Party.

What yanks my chain is the fact that whites are the ones always accused of racism when too few blacks stand with them on an issue.

Why are the blacks never singled out as the "racist" when they don't support the same issues as white voters?...Why is it always the evil honky?

Well, HT, I think you could say that it's a "well known fact" that loads of southern white folk are ignorant rednecks who can't even read a ballot well enough to vote. Does that mean they, too, are not a very politically diverse group and rarely contribute toward political change in this country?

Why single out blacks? If you truly want to bust PC programming, you must move beyond just pointing out the way blacks vote.

What is the overall racial makeup of the Tea Party? Do you have those facts available?

Or Irish Catholics vote a monolithic bloc? They did once. They also tended to vote Democrat throughout their early years, BECAUSE the Democrat precinct worker met them off the boat, gave them a job, helped them find a place to live, helped them get tested for American citizenship, then told them to vote Democrat. Lasted a long time.

They also tended to vote Democrat throughout their early years, BECAUSE the Democrat precinct worker met them off the boat, gave them a job, helped them find a place to live, helped them get tested for American citizenship, then told them to vote Democrat. Lasted a long time.No doubt, there are many factors, including nationality, religion, and geography, that have played a big part in why white Americans vote as they do.

But it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that white voters overall are and always have been the most politically diverse group, while black voters are not.

Your argument is nothing more than a desperate grasp for straws to justify a belief system that has long been programmed into every fibre of your heart, mind and soul.

Political Correctness has you locked into a passionate struggle to defend the indefensible...Racial issues are the most protected of all PC causes and the hardest to deprogram.

Does that mean they, too, are not a very politically diverse group and rarely contribute toward political change in this country? The only political change that black voters support is the progressive[marxist] platform of the Democrat Party.

This is very evident by the 95% support and long running loyalty to their obvious party of choice.

5% diversity is better classified as no diversity...They are nothing more than cloned voters.

Do you know what this means?...When minorities become the majority, their political dreams will become a reality that will rule your children world.

Liberalism leads to socialism leads to communism leads to totalitarianism...Is this the future you want to leave your children?

It is each generations responsibility to pass onto our children the freedom, security and prosperity that we injoyed.

I personally don't want to be the weak link in the chain that failed America and it's future generations.

There's been way too much blood shed to build and maintain this nation to simply let it fall without a fight.

I believe they will show their influence, and get some of their backed candidates elected this November

The "reporters" in the liberal media will come across as if they were covering a funeral, rather then an election

The joy they were oozing after the last election will turn to both sorrow and outrage after the Novemeber midterms

The big three television networks virtually ignored the massive, grass-roots "tea party" surge in 2009, and so far this year have maligned the movement as teeming with racists and violent fringe figures, according to a report by the Media Research Center.

"Rather than objectively document the rise and impact of this important grassroots movement, the 'news' networks instead chose to first ignore, and then deplore, the citizen army mobilizing against the unpopular policies of a liberal president and Congress," wrote MRC Research Director Rich Noyes.

As a nation-spanning "Tea Party Express" caravan plans to pull into Washington for a "tax day" rally on Thursday, a Rasmussen poll finds that the number of people who say they're part of the tea party movement nationally has grown to 24 percent, up from 16 percent a month ago.

"The rise in tea party support is perhaps not surprising at a time when more voters than ever (58 percent) favor repeal of the national health care plan just passed by Democrats in Congress and signed into law by President Obama," the pollster wrote.

The Media Research Center, a watchdog organization founded by conservative L. Brent Bozell III, compiled reams of statistics to support its findings about TV network coverage, among them:

* ABC, CBS and NBC aired 61 stories or segments on the anti-spending movement over a 12-month period, and most of that coverage is recent. "The networks virtually refused to recognize the tea party in 2009 (19 stories), with the level of coverage increasing only after Scott Brown's election in Massachusetts" in January, the report said, referring to the Republican's win of the Senate seat long held by Edward M. Kennedy.
* Overall, 44 percent of the networks' reports on the tea party suggested the movement reflected a fringe movement or a dangerous quality. "Signs and images at last weekend's big tea party march in Washington and at other recent events have featured racial and other violent themes," NBC anchorman Brian Williams said in a September report.
* Coverage of the movement pales in comparison with coverage of "protests serving liberal objectives," the report said. For instance, the Nation of Islam's "Million Man March" in 1995 garnered 21 evening news stories on the day of the march — more than the tea party demonstrations received in all of 2009....

been around this block before. the thing about the MSM is that they under report or misreport any movement that is small gov't or anti-gov't based.

Ron Paul had the same Problem, big grass roots small coverage.
the Anti -war movement on the left had HUGE rallies, but you'd never know it from the MSM.
the Christian family movement, homeschoolers, Huge Pro Life rallies. MSM is MIA. I was at a Pro life rally and watched MSM reporters seek out problem people to interview.

Our MSM at this point is not much better than Pravda was in the U.S.S.R.. You've got to use the alternatives and pick the meat and leave the bones of the MSM. It's lot more work but you'll never get the close to the whole story for anyposition lef right up down from the MSM.

(PS ive started calling Good Morning America Gov't Morning America after watching them hype so many pro go'vt positions. the H1N! deal finally got my wife to see it. But they ALWAYS take the side or view of the "officials". Ands spoon feed ""the Authorities" say ....stay calm... remain in your homes... duck and cover ..." type messages it's almost unbearable.)
