Actually it would be strange if they did. They embrace a very different political philosophy and attendant ideology.

If they'd cared about the Constitution, they'd have voted NO.

The Constitution, as it happens, is a conservative document. It lays out a government of limited powers, and says flatly that if a power isn't explicitly listed in the Constitution, the Fed govt can't have that power. It's a blueprint for small, limited government.

Needless to say, the power to run Health Care Insurance, as well as retirement programs, unemployment insurance, dictate workplace conditions etc., are not listed, or even implied.

You can't be a modern liberal, much less be the kind of extreme leftists now populating the ranks of elected Democrats, and embrace the Consitution. It's like being a dedicated thief while embracing the concept of private property - the two are just 180 degrees away from each other.
