I enjoy dogs more than cats, but that's probably because my mom always manages to have the meanest cats ever.

I also tend to like larger breeds over those tiny little toy dogs. IMHO if they aren't at least 40 pounds they don't count.:laugh2:

Both of mine were rescued from shelters and are mixes, my new puppy is a Basenji mix and is beautiful.

Well, youd like some of my dogs! One is mostly Dane, one Pit, one Huskey
mix (a real problem child who came with the house), Spanky (no one can
figure out what he has in his gene pool) was saved from the river bank by
a neighbor...along with his spotted brother....at 5mos they were neutered..
Spanky weighed 64 lbs and Falfa weighed 54!!!! Those are the biggest
dawgs around here. They go down in size from there.

Spanky is diabetic and has a thyroid condition and he goes through a bottle
of insulin every 10 days!!! Thyroid meds cost little thank goodness. Hes
the most expensive to maintain animal I have ever had!

Yes, they're very cat like and will even lick themselves. They have bad qualities, they get bored easily and souldn't be trusted off the leash they also tend to be nocternal. Mine looks almost pure except for his face with is broader than it should be.
He's great with my older 100 pound dog, we needed one who was not going to try to be "top dog", the old guy just didn't need the stress.

How interesting....I had no idea that Basenjis were so unique. His lack of
"discipline" in the area of the leash thing probably reflects a great deal of
intelligence and curiosity.

lol, neither of my cats are noc, they sleep mostly at night and during the day. Around 18 hours which is on the high side of normal for a cat.

My grandson and friend rescued a little Pug from a bad situation. The owner
had gone to prison for drugs, someone was supposed to be taking care of it
but they werent, so......little dogs got it made now.
