Government rebuked over global warming nursery rhyme adverts
Two nursery rhyme adverts commissioned by the Government to raise awareness of climate change have been banned for overstating the risks.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled that the adverts – which were based on the children's poems Jack and Jill and Rub-A-Dub-Dub – made exaggerated claims about the threat to Britain from global warming.
In definitely asserting that climate change would cause flooding and drought the adverts went beyond mainstream scientific consensus, the watchdog said.

It noted that predictions about the potential global impact of global warming made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) "involved uncertainties" that the adverts failed to reflect.

The two posters created on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change juxtaposed adapted extracts from the nursery rhymes with prose warnings about the dangers of global warning....

and New York wants to regulate sodium. It's way past time for Western peoples to tell the government to do what they are supposed to do, then get out of our diets, addictions, predilections, and bedrooms. Protect our borders and people and economy.

Sort of, it was a total ban on salt, not just regulation; however, it was just one guy in the New York legislature proposing the idea and I will be amazed if it passes.

Nonetheless, he's totally in the worng on this one. Salt is not the problem, too much salt in our diets is.

I don't disagree with that. Same with alcohol, drugs, laying on sofa watching television, eating 3000 calories a day, not carrying health insurance....

It's not the governments job to regulate personal behavior.

Here we just pay a flat rate of council tax, which varies depending on the size of your house, the idea being 'bigger house, likly more people, thus charge more' however, allot of people complained that just because they lived in a big house didn't mean they threw away allot of waste ect, and so this 'pay as you throw' system has been introduced by some councils.

Well right there, people are being hired to monitor the monitors, no? Here the already employed refuse workers just make sure that recyclables are taken away-'free', while the 'non-recyclables' pay the 'fine.' No extra workers there. Of course, the more people are recycling, the less workers needed.

Pro-Obama lessons? What is the point of that? most of the kids will be out of school for it to mean anything... or to make an acceptance for future leaders with his viewpoints and people that they surround themselves with.

Probably because of how often I use government lesson plans, I was sent the original plans, not those finally used. Quite unreal regarding indoctrination. I said so, on response form provided. The originals were online for less than two days, I don't think the response was what they expected. It ended up being fine, though unnecessary IMHO.

Not 'alleged', I think I posted one of middle school ones at the time. I really thought that was going to be what was, so no reason to 'save.'
