ATLANTA – A Georgia grand jury has indicted four members of an assisted suicide group on charges they helped a 58-year-old with cancer kill himself.

The Forsyth County grand jury on Tuesday indicted former Final Exit Network president Thomas E. Goodwin and three others on charges of offering to assist in the commission of suicide, tampering with evidence and violating state anti-racketeering laws. The group was also indicted.

Members were arrested more than a year ago in connection with John Celmer's suicide at his Georgia home.

Authorities say the Final Exit Network has helped dozens of people kill themselves.

Defense attorney Don Samuel represents the network and medical director Dr. Lawrence D. Egbert, another of those charged. He says his clients will be exonerated. Messages were left for other attorneys.

looking at the news feed and throwing crap on here
sounds about right.

My thoughts, kill your own damn self, if you're too cowardly don't involve others so they can get thrown in jail.

From their web site.

Our Guiding Principles

Mentally competent adults have a basic human right to end their lives when they suffer from a fatal or irreversible illness or intractable pain, when their quality of life is personally unacceptable, and the future holds only hopelessness and misery. Such a right shall be an individual choice, including the timing and companion, free of any restrictions by the law, clergy, medical profession, even friends and relatives no matter how well-intentioned. We do not encourage anyone to end their life, do not provide the means to do so, and do not actively assist in a person’s death. We do, however, support them when medical circumstances warrant their decision.

It works for me.

We should have the option not to suffer to death!

We should have the option not to suffer to death!

We don't let our pets do that, but it seems most think it's ok for us. Go figure.
