Has anyone seen this movie? It is on On Demand/Comcast right now. We watched it last night- what a hoot! I happen to love this genre in those old movies.
It's a 1963 Roger Corman movie, with Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre, and a very young Jack Nicholson, in one of the goofiest 60's comedy/"horror" pics ever. It was one of Nicholson's first films (he had done TV work).
There are a couple of others like it available right now as well.

I don't think I have seen it since at least the 70's. It was a funny movie. Went in expecting a horror flicked and laughed my ass off.

Yes, I was surprised how much I laughed, Gaffer. Not just at it, but with it.

I'll have to look for that one, it's been about 40 years since I saw it and it will be like watching it new.

Verrry loosely, but yes. Imagine a comedy based on a Poe work. :coffee:

I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks! I'm sort of a Poe fan, which is really embarrassing to admit.

About the only thing related to the Poe story is the title.

Still, if you say funny and loosely based, I'd probably enjoy it.

And the Raven tap, tap, tapping on Price's window. :D
Oh, and Price recites the piece at the beginning. And his wife's name is Lenore as in the poem. Other than that, as Gaffer says, it's not even close.

Why am I imagining dancing? Admit it, you were laughing when you wrote the above?

It sounds like. I will either pay the $4.95 from ondemand or get my lazy self to $1 rental. ;)
