4 charged in phone scheme at La. senator's office

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Federal authorities say people posing as phone technicians tried to interfere with the phone system in U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu's New Orleans office. An FBI affidavit says four people were arrested Monday. At least two of them were dressed in work clothes and construction hats and claimed they were technicians for a telephone company.

It's not clear from the affidavit why they might have been trying to interfere with the system.

Reports are saying that they were trying to bug the Senator's phone system. At this point we dont know much more. It will be interesting to see what happens.

However, from an observational standpoint, they are complete and utter morons.

Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan said Republicans once praised O'Keefe as an American hero, "yet today, in light of these deplorable and illegal attacks on the office of a United States senator by their champion, Republicans have not offered a single iota of disgust, a whisper of indignation or even a hint of outrage."
