Government Takeover of 401(k)s and IRAs?

Bloomberg reports that the Obama Administration is considering measures to encourage Americans to convert their 401(k)s and IRAs into Government-provided annuities. The story has attracted a lot of negative commentary in the blogosphere:

OK, now I'm going to sound like a white supremacist, but so what?

Why is it that, just because I'm white, I'm expected to vote for someone who makes no bones about the fact that he will do everything in his power against my self interest?

Black people aren't expected to vote for someone like David Duke just by virtue of the fact that they're black. And you know what? I'm not going to vote for a jerk like Barak O'Bankruptcy.

Why is it that almost 50 years after the "I have a dream" speech that whites are not judged by the content of their character but by the color of their skin.... and no one thinks there's anything wrong with it!

Furthermore, why do a lot of blacks get a pass.. you know what I mean droopy drawers, fathering kids out of wedlock, fostering race hatred, involved in drugs, being violent, no count, etc..... just because of the color of their skin... why don't those animals get judged by the content of their (lack of ) character?
