Report: Rush Limbaugh taken to Hawaii hospital

HONOLULU (AP) - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was taken to a hospital with chest pains on Wednesday, a Honolulu television station reported.

Paramedics responded to a call at 2:41 p.m. from the Kahala Hotel and Resort where Limbaugh is vacationing, KITV reported. The station, citing unnamed sources, said Limbaugh was taken to The Queens Medical Center in serious condition.

Queens spokeswoman N. Makana Shook says the hospital is unable to comment on the report.

Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said paramedics took a male of unknown age to an area hospital from the Kahala Hotel and Resort. He said he had no further information.

Limbaugh was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week, KITV said. The country club is next to the Kahala hotel.

Liberalism and socialism are radically different from one another, but that doesn't stop right wingers from not bothering to distinguish the two. It's not a new tactic. The Nazis routinely blurred the distinction between Jews and communists. Yes, it's possible for a person to be both Jewish and communist, but the two are not the same, not by a long shot. However, that didn't stop the Nazi propaganda machine from portraying them as one and the same.

I actually have some respect for socialists, but I'm not one. I'm not a socialist because I have grave doubts that abolishing private ownership and putting the means of production into the hands of employees could work. I'm for keeping the economy market-based, but I'm strongly opposed to the "market will cure all" approach. If the market could cure all our problems, we would not need to use government to create schools, fire departments, libraries, police, etc. And, yes, the government should create health insurance and make it universal. That's not socialist unless private ownership of all medical practices is abolished and everything is publicly owned. The universal health care system in Great Britain is socialist, but the one in Germany is not because the one in Germany is a combination of private companies and government working together, not a system of the government owning it all outright.
