Just curious Hog, how much government do you think there should be?Our founding fathers were very wise and educated men for their time who foreseen the dangers of a large powerful centralized federal government and as we have been witness to, they were correct.
The government and it's responsibilities that they envisioned and layed out in the Constitution is an excellent standard of what we should expect today with few and simple modifications for modern times.
Americans became complacent and sat quietly by while corrupt elected officials have been busy for the last 200 years fixing something that basicly wasn't broke and needed only a couple minor adjustments.

I understand and agree. It seems alot of Libertarians want NO government instead of limited government. I just wanted to see where you are at on it.

A true libertarian is 100% aware that government is a necessary evil of civilization as long as it is small, inexpensive and unintrusive and not aloud to escape it's constitutional bounderies.

I suppose in a perfect world on the national level I'm a libertarian, because I believe the Feds should abide by the powers that the Constitution enumerates and not much else. I'm conservative on the State level though because I think that certain traditions, like marriage, deserve to be recognized for their importance in benefiting society.
But as Hog said, politicians have been working for 200 years to usurp the Constitution and the only way its going to be enforced is by violent revolution. And few have the stomach for that.

Ah...thank you sir. I spent three months trying to make that exact point to Crin but failed. Just goes to show you huh?
All joking aside, many people are true Libertarians but deny their it to themselves when it comes to election time when they sell their commitment to the devil in order to vote for someone who "MIGHT" win. All the time realizing that in the end when they do that it is their philosophy that wins. The one that sells out to accomplish little instead of sticking true to their commitment and eventually winning the war.....not just the battle that occurs in the first week of November.
As I have predicted (please excuse me for sounding like a know it all...which I certainly am not), the Libertarian movement is beginning to take hold. Ironically it took seeing the worst of bad choices to do so, which is usually par for the course.
During the last election I tried to give reason each day with a new post attempting to convince folks to vote Libertarian. Ah...Barr can;t win I would hear. What they did not understand is that I was not necessarily voting for Barr. I was voting for Libertarianism and looking to make a statement that would catch the attention of both major parties. We don;t have to win elections to accomplish our objective in this philosophy. Personally I don;t give a shit which party begins to adopt the platform of limited government, more freedom and less infringement on the personal lives of Americans, it matters not to me. If they will holds true to it I will vote for them. When neither does it, which ours are not, I will vote against both until they do....or my party gains enough influence that it eventually makes them see the light. By doing this I have, to the contrary, CERTAINLY not wasted my vote.

Yeah but its their blood. November will be payback time for Congress, and Obama's a one termer, just like Carter.Democrats control Congress/Senate and Executive branches of government but even if they don't, they believe they can pass an amnesty bill for illegal aliens because most elected Republicans are bought off to be pro-amnesty as well as the Democrats.
Never forget that almost all of the republican presidential candidates were pro-amnesty and the House and Senate is filled with like-minded republicans...They are Moderates and RINO's
With 12 million new voters plus their extended families still in Mexico that Obama has also promised citizenship to, they know they will destroy all political opposition in the United States in less than a generation...Their progressive dream of a marxist utopia will be realized.
If they accomplish nothing else they know they must pass an amnesty bill while Obama is in office and everything else will fall into place down the road...Amnesty is the key to the destruction of capitalism and America and a new marxist beginning.
Stop Amnesty and you will delay their plan but to destroy their plans we must eliminate their socialist voting base that will always be a threat to capitalism, democracy and the republic...The marxist political system is unacceptible in the US and would have to be overthrown by force if it ever does come into power.
Why should we put the burden of fighting a revolution on our future generations if we can stop this threat now...Haven't we placed enough burden on our children with this enormous debt that our foolishness has left them without asking them to lay down their lives to regain their freedom and way of life on top of that?
A stitch in time saves nine.....Let's take back our country and leave our children a future instead of a mess.

Me too my friend...But that does not eliminate the underlying problem of the enemy within who hate America. I have a theory that within any given population you have about 10% that exhibit some abnormal behavior and of that, about 10% (or 1% of the total) exhibit radically abnormal behavior. (Abnormal is neither good or bad, just outside of the normal range.) Examples are:
10% of students score an A in a course; 1% score an A in an advanced placement class.
10% of Muslims in the Mid-East hate America; 1% would blow themselves up;
10% of American males act effeminate; 1% are gay.
So back to politics, 10% of Americans hate the Constitution; 1% would take up arms to destroy the Constitution. Since there are 350,000,000 Americans, that's 35 million who hate the Constitution and 3.5 million who you'd have to route out and kill.
Even if you could identify those shitwads and do that, you'd still have 31.5 million who hate the Constitution. Many more of those would then hate it enough to take up arms, and so on.
A better way to manage the problem is to keep these fools marginalized by exposing them for what they are so the remaining 90% are less likely to vote for them.

White guilt.
BHO would never have been elected had he been a white male. Middle age whites saw a 'clean articulate man without a black dialect' as a chance to assuage their white guilt, younger voters saw 'change and hope and cool' along with a chance to assuage their white guilt, and blacks of course voted along racial lines.
In 2012 the white guilt factor by and large goes away: 'done that'. Blacks will still vote for their guy but with a much lower turnout.
This is a huge opportunity for Conservatives to clean up and hopefully the GOP will follow their conservative leaders instead of their country-club blue bloods like they did under the Bush's.

If they are regarding racial issues, YES! People who defend "factless claims" are usually the PC crowd who are repeating what they have been PC programmed to believe, even though all evidence dispute their claim.
ie, in matters of race, political correctness always trumps truth and many times political correctness will simply forbid a subject to even be brought up or discussed, with the accusation of racism.

Objectives: Students will be able to distinguish fact from opinion.
Materials: sentence strips with the definitions of fact and opinion, chart paper containing a paragraph with a mixture of facts and opinions.
...
Evaluation: Were the students able to differentiate between fact and opinion? Post the chart story and sentence strips somewhere in the room. Encourage students to continue to listen for facts and opinions and write them down as they hear them. You can share these each week or day. This will help you to see who really understands and who may need additional work.

Oh yeah, nothing he posts is about race, he's not concerned with that, just the truth based on facts. Damn, :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:Indeed. I thought I tried... but oh well. I just wish some could practice what they preach.
If you guys continue being mean and picking on me, I will be forced to report you to Jim. :p hahaha go the ahead. I have faith in Jim. Be sure to work on your lip tremble.

Our founding fathers were very wise and educated men for their time who foreseen the dangers of a large powerful centralized federal government and as we have been witness to, they were correct.
Real good post Hog and I couldn't agree more....

You are going to be perplexed here HT, I agree with much of what you are saying regarding Gabby's elitist viewpoint on where some people live. Gabby is the type of person you try to paint all who disagree with you. She IS really PC, but not nearly as much so as she was 3 or 4 years ago. She's maturing and is becoming more open in her thinking, it's a process.
Based only on what she posts, she hasn't a problem going into poor minority areas for food and/or entertainment. Indeed, she goes for the culture. There's an assumption that it's social structure that has made them poor, ignoring those in that ethnic group that have 'made it.'
Yet, she groups all whites that live in 'trailers' as uneducated trash. She assumes they are all ignorant racists. OTOH, from what you post, it seems you assume that all people of color that live in urban areas are socialists/communists plotting to take over the country, if they weren't so ignorant and substance abusers.
The two of you often appear to be the other, inside out.

The two of you often appear to be the other, inside out.My opinions are based on statistical facts and not misguided personal beliefs that are the result of skin color or where someone lives, as are gabby's racist views.
96% of black voters are loyal democrats who support the socialist policies of the progressives, which is in direct conflict with the principles of America, capitalism and our founding fathers.
If 96% of the white race believed as the blacks do, America would be known as The United Socialist States of America and Cuba, Venezuella and Red China would be our friends and allies.
Yes, gabby is so PC that she has taken protection of minorities to the extremes of hatred for whitey, but PC is not restricted to liberals and has affected most everyone in America to some degree.

I find HogTrash's responses to be very PC. If you go back 50-60 years, the vast majority of whites felt the exact same way. They believed all non-whites to be inferior. They spouted the exact same nonsense about the founding fathers who fought for the freedom of the newly established United States.
People like this conveniently overlook the fact that women and minorities were pushed into the background for much of the country's developmental stages. There are some who continue to do so. They still look down on blacks. They have little contact with women, because they can't find any that subscribe to their antiquated "barefoot and pregnant" points of view.
The viewpoints expressed by HogTrash are very consistent with all racists. They have their own version of what is PC. Because their PC is very different from the mainstream. It is more in line with Hitler and Stalin than of 21st Century America.
The 96 percent figure is a gross exaggeration. Would you care to back this up?
In case you missed it (or were too dimwitted to understand), the more enlightened among us tend to ghettoize those with backwards racist viewpoints as "trailer trash." A less PC term would be "white nigger."
Just as whites in the early 1900s tended to push minorities into lesser regarded "ghettos" (out of sight, out of mind), those of us who have accepted the assimilation of all races and viewpoints into modern society prefer to push the backwards redneck types into isolated trailer parks. Where you can wreck havoc on each others and raise your offspring in the ignorant, backwoods style that you have become accustomed to.
I am a product of my upbringing. My paternal grandfather was Old South. He was Texas racism at its finest. He disowned his oldest son (my uncle) for marrying a Mexican immigrant. He cut off contact with his other son (my dad) for marrying a German.
My maternal grandfather was just the opposite. He grew up in Nazi Germany and knew full well was racism and socialism were. He encouraged just the opposite. As did my parents.
I knew no sort of racism or prejudice when I was growing up. I was free to befriend and socialize with everyone. Which is why I currently have friends of all racial, religious and social viewpoints. As does my daughter.
It is also a reason why my sister married a Mexican immigrant and feels quite comfortable as one of the few Anglos who live in East Los Angeles. She speaks perfect Spanish and rarely leaves her end of town.
I don't care much for Hog Trash, but I am very thankful that he has never had kids. Perhaps his kind will eventually die out.

In case you haven't been paying attention, PC is an undeniable, cold hard fact.
It is why so many problems are misdiagnosed and solutions are forbidden.
It is why we cannot affectively defend our nation against terrorism.
It is why there were 12 soldiers murdered at Fort Hood Texas on 11/5/09.
It is why we can't secure our borders and solve immigration problems.
It is why so many blacks live in crime ridden, poverty stricken ghettos.
It is why our children are punished for rediculous policies in school.
It is why racist policies such as Affirmative Action are not only tolerated by society, but instituted by government.
It is why free speech and thought is restricted and why we must consider every word before we speak it or risk being branded a racist.
It is why innocent little white boys are told in pre-school that they are second class citizens and throughout the remainder of their education.
I'll bet you could add to this list if you thought about it, Kat.
