What more has to be said?

She makes bizarre statements no one could possibly take seriously.

The House bill isn't even close to socialism. The system it creates is only just barely better than what we have now.

joe dear you really aren't going to say all that with a straight face are you?

forcing people into a program against their wishes by a government then threatening them with fines if they don't wish to join, what would you call that.

What part of "You can't force the American people to purchase a product or service they don't want" is bizarre?

i take it seriously. her constituents take it seriously. the only one who thinks that no one could seems to be you.

And there is nothing better about a bill that takes away fundamental liberties.

I have been reading the bill. It is 1990 pages long, it took me about an hour to read through that much and take notes, at this rate it will take me 40 hours to read the entire bill. An entire work week. WOW!!!!

Unfortunately, this h.c bill is just another step down that slippery slope that America seems to be adament in going down. It's become apparent that as the days wear on, there are many in our fed. gov't that are working overtime to destroy America. Gives me great distress to see it all unfolding and wondering what it's going to be like a mere 10 years down the road....Communism, here we come.........because it's only a few short steps away from socialism..... So much for being the land of the free and the home of the brave. It will then be changed to the land of the oppressed and the home of the slaves......

How old are you? If you still have enough years left to live, then quite possibly you will see it all unfold.... I have no clue as to what Englands politicians are doing. But the one's here are little by little, with a rip here and a shred there, tearing America to bits. However, if I were you, I'd concentrate more on what your politicians are up to and work towards straightening up any problems your country has and stop worrying about ours. That's a handful in itself.

And since you're living in a socialist country, that's an endorcement for socialism? That just means you have a nanny gov't telling you what to do......and where to do it.

I'll do as i please with my time, no matter your suggestions, and do however find it rather worrying that you think i shouldn't be concerned with the politics of other countries, you can learn an aweful lot from other political systems you konw.

I'm not trying to endorce any system, i'm just trying to dispell the hyperbole of 'we'll be a commie country in 10 years' for the nonsense it is, may i suggest you look into several European nations, such as the UK, France, Germany, ect to see how they are allot more socialist than the USA are, and yet still nothing like commie states.

Honey, you're still poopin' green. You have yet to live and find out what it's all about. Sure, we can all learn a lot from other political systems, but who the heck has the time or desire to wade thru the muck? America has enough of her own muck to wade thru, and I sure as heck don't want to wade thru yours.....:laugh2: I was just saying that one should concentrate more on what one's own country is doing rather than pondering over anothers. Each country has it's own agendas it strives to fulfill. What are Englands? Dig deep, my friend, and I bet you won't like what you find out.....

Gee, 'you're too young to know what you're talking about' i've never heard that one before *rolls eyes*

I have both the time and desire, if you don't, fair enough.

I do concentrate far more on UK politics, and then again specificly Northern Irish politics, however, as there would be no point in posting any of that here you guys never see it.

The current UK agenda is flowing mainly around the Lisbon treaty, and moving towards becoming a federal Europe (infact many would argue we are currently a collective of co-federalist states) and if possible installing ex-PM Tony Blair as the first President of Europe, a move i strongly dislike, infact i think the EU should be nothing more than a common market, but such is life, i could go on but there's little point as (a) you may not know what i'm talking about (b) its likly you won't care.

But rest assured the majority of my time is centred on British politics, though i have time for others, mainly America, France and Germany.

Being 'young' has it's advantages and disadvantages regarding politics, life in general I guess. Some of the idealism is a good thing, absent often from the more intelligent, well read older folk. Time too, as well as seeing the 'adult world' with fresh eyes.

No, it doesn't necessarily understand place, time, and people that older ones have seen before, thus may more easily step in the same muck as has been done before. However, it may hear others that experience has shut our ears too, if we choose no longer to listen.

I'd say any family, business, country is lucky to have all ages, as well as the positives and negative each brings.

Ok, you're a smart young man....so get up and do something to help change things. If you don't like how things are going, get up offa that thing and find out what you, as an individual can do to help. Get the education you need and then jump into the political field. I'm sure England could use fresh, young minds to guide it along.

I know who Tony Blair is, but am not informed enough as to what he stands for. But he is a politician tho'. And politicians, for the most part, have sold their souls to the devil.... No matter where they fly from, they all have one thing in common. They wish to gain more control. Power is what drives them.

And you are soooo wrong, as I do care what's going on in your part of the world. I'm just swamped with the muck in mine and am on overload. I'm just not informed enough about others. But inform me. As one human being to another, we are all in this together. When one country is faltering and hurting, I feel the pain. It is up to all of us what we do with the world....

As for education i'm currently at university studying Law and Politics, you'd have saved yourself allot of tpying if you hadn't made some assuptions about what i do with my life,

Well i would suggest you do look into him and his policies, as he may well become the voice of 500 million people in the coming months, and as president of Europe will have executive powers over all of Europes states, comanding areas like forgien policy ect.

The simple truth about this HellCare reform bill is that no amount of pounding our keyboards on this debate site or any other is going to accomplish anything, unless we follow up by contacting our senators and representatives personally to let them know that if we see a yes vote from them, regardless of their political affiliation, they will be ceremoniously fired in the next election. We can type here until we are blue in the fingers and it won't effect any change at all. I have been on the phone a few times, discussing this with the personnel working in the office of my state representative, who is already opposed to the passage of this bill anyway.

Well, to keep the answer short and simple, No, i do not think the EU is going well, things were just fine when we had a common market, freedom of movement ect, that all started to turn around the late 90s, with talk of a common currenty (the Euro) which Britian did not join,

Since then we have given more and more powers to centralized goverment in Europe, and while the UK is a very strong player it does worry me that so much of our National policy is now set at an international level. The new European Constitution, which is currently being passed is a joke pure and simple;

Basicly they introduced the idea of a constitution a few years ago, and all member states had to pass it for it to become law, France and the Netherlands had national referendums on the bill, both countries said 'No'...so the Eurocrats took back the Constitution, re-named it the 'Lisbon treaty' and sent it back to the nations to vote, however France and the Netherlands decided not to ahve a referendum again, as they now said this was a treaty, and so didn't need a referendum, the British goverment who had promised the british public a vote on it took the same line,

Infact the only country that did get to vote on the 'treaty' were Ireland...and they said 'No'...so the Eurocrats waited a few months, and sent them the bill again (and as they had invested heavily pro-treaty propaganda) and a few weeks ago the Irish voted again, and got the 'right' answer this time of 'Yes' So now there are only 2 countries left to rubber stamp it, and with it we move ever closer to becoming the United States of Eurasia, George Orwell eat your heart out.

That's what the powers that be do. If they don't get the answers they are striving for, they call a halt, wait for a length of time, and then, bing, bang, boom, they toss it out there again, hoping it'll get the response they were wanting. And generally, that is exactly what happens...

I suspect, when America gets combined with Mexico and Canada it's going to open up a whole new set of problems. And the combining of the three is the reason why there isn't a damn thing being done about our borders. I believe the reason that you are now the EU or that America will become as one with those other two, is to generate even more control for the powers that be. That, and the fact that it's all a chess game to them. They love to move the pieces around to see how they fly, so to speak.
