Shall we take the anti-gun spin out? Straw sales are "illegal" the weapons are perfectly "legal". The crime was the method of sale NOT the product.

good lord...i used to give you the benefit of the doubt....this was a place where LEGAL POLICEMAN purchased guns....it was never proven otherwise....a guilty plea is often taken to stop the government from railroading you....on other trumped up charges

and let's take a look at the stupidity of your OP:

In 2003, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence ranked Colosimo's as the nation's fifth-worst gun dealer, as rated by guns traced to crimes.

so, i say we ban all cars that cause violence as they can be traced to the crime...

and her is gabs number one hate...religious folk....usual right wing nutters.....don't look now gabs:

Twelve activists from the interfaith group Heeding God's Call were arrested in January, charged with conspiracy, defiant trespassing, disorderly conduct, and obstructing a highway.

regardless of the outcome and guilty plea....gabs actually looks like a total idiot for starting this thread

One reason officers flocked to the store was they had few choices; there weren't many gun shops back then. Another was that Colosimo treated officers special, offering discounts and outfitting their guns with custom grips.

If a cop got into trouble and was fired, Colosimo would give him a job at the store, veteran officers recalled. That way the officer had money coming in while he filed an appeal to get his job back.

Not everybody liked the place. Some thought the premises tight, dark and unwelcoming. And, over time, as the city became more violent and the body count rose, people began to worry about guns that seemed easy to get.

Twenty percent of all guns recovered at Philadelphia crime scenes were originally bought at Colosimo's, according to data from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The heat was on.

In 2003, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence ranked Colosimo's as the nation's fifth-worst gun dealer, as rated by guns traced to crimes. Last year, in a legal filing, City Solicitor Shelley Smith wrote that, "Colosimo's values profits over the lives of others."

Well of course many of the city's guns would be traced to his shop if it was one of the few in town selling.

If all guns in the whole city were being sold from just one shop, would that mean it would have to be shut down once a weapon is used in a crime? :poke:

Were there any studies done to show where weapons came from when used in self-defense?

Philadelphia is run by a bunch a morons. HAs been for years. As a person that lives in the suburbs, its scary that we have to go into the city for business, pleasure or just to pass through to New Jersey and yet we can't vote for the leaders of this fiefdom. Shutting down a gun shop is not going to stop the flow of guns on the streets. They come in from other sources. The fact that the story said only 20% were traced to the store basically states that 80% came from somewhere else. Philly is a dangerous place and yet we all have to go there for our jobs or recreation (Eagles/Phillies games).

This was just another hit and run by gabs to see how many peoples buttons she could push with this article.

I think the real story on that page was the lingerie football tryouts.

As always, you miss the point. The place was a center of straw sales. With the shop being sold, straw sales are decreased.

After a bit of googling, I found out the reason behind Gabby's incoherent anti-gun fetish:
