Facing the increasing likelihood of losses in the 2010 midterm congressional and gubernatorial elections, President Obama and his fellow Democrats are returning to a tried-and-true campaign strategy — run against former President George W. Bush.

In speech after speech since taking office, Mr. Obama has pointed back to the problems he inherited from the Bush administration when he took office. And earlier this month, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine catalogued a slew of perceived Bush failures to the delight of supporters.

Already, Democratic gubernatorial candidates in Virginia and New Jersey are testing the strategy — so far, however, unsuccessfully.

"It will be a failed strategy," said Karl Rove, former senior political adviser to Mr. Bush. "They have been doing that very intentionally in New Jersey and Virginia thus far, and both their candidates are behind."

While the strategy worked in both 2006 and 2008, when Democrats took control of Congress, Mr. Rove argued that voters have moved past the Bush administration and are now beginning to judge the current president on his own record.

"People are starting to get the sense that the way that [Mr. Obama] spent two years [as a candidate] depicting the Bush administration is not living up to the way he's now governing," Mr. Rove said. Running against Mr. Bush "bespeaks both weakness and lack of vision."

The campaign speeches Dems make in this upcoming election cycle should begin with "Once upon a time, Democrats had total power and brought peace and prosperity to not only the US, but the world"

And that will be such an obvious lie that it will surely register with plenty of voters. Lets look for a moment at what they have brought, and all in just a few short months:

A congress who writes a health care reform bill so laden with manure it could fertilize all the farms in the midwest.

An executive branch fraught with tax evaders, individuals who are cohorts to notorious criminals [i.e. friends of ACORN, Van Jones], and czars who bypass the legislative branch unconstitutionally.

A leader who bows to sheiks as if he is subservient to them ('nuff said)

A CIC who is deaf to his military advisers and who has no idea what to do about the war on Afghanistan that he promised to take ownership of prior to the election. (He apparently only wishes to provide enough troops to put them all in grave danger - so he SHOULD pull them out instead).

A president who refuses to acknowledge dissenting opinions of the people he has been elected to serve, even to the point that he now wishes to bail out the newspapers so he can control the spin media more explicitly than he already does. (His own words, not mine...)

A DOJ and president bent on destroying our intelligence community, beginning with the CIA.

A Democrat led congress stuck so far up unspeakable places that they cannot see the light of day.

A whiny, crybaby speaker of the house.

A VP who is not allowed to speak his mind because when he does, the WH totally freaks out and the staff spin doctors have to work overtime to paraphrase whatever he said.

You have covered the acomplishments of the Obama administration very well

Obama is already whining "blame it not on someone else" mode.
It's what he does best when he fails. He'll blame the conservatives, us stupid extreemist racist Americans, he'll blame Democrats, he'll blame Bush, he'd even pull grandma out from under the bus if she were still alive.

But he will never admit it was his lack of leadership, his doublespeak, his untrustywothyness, that was really the cause of it failing.

People tried to warn the voters about his lack of experience, now we all are paying the price

According to Gallup weekly by demographics his lowest ratings come from married & middle age and elderly, middle income college educated individuals and those who go to church every Sunday.

That explains all the pickup trucks with confederate flags and gun racks filling up the parking lots at major corporations, senior centers, and churches throughout the country :laugh2:

Nothing Obama has done so far has worked. The unemployment rate is going higher and higher even with the "stimulus".

His bailouts have only lead to more problems. He double-speaks, such as calling taxes "not taxes".

And, most of all, he implies that we are stupid and racist, just because we don't agree with him, the almighty Obama.

He is not accustomed to failure, and we will pay a heavy price if he gets his way.

What libs forget is during the Bush years, books, movies, and plays were done about the ASSASSINATION of Pres Bush. There was zero outrage from the likes of Matthews and MSNBC
