One of these days these goons are going to run into a crowd of folks like you and me and there will be some serious asskicking. They seem to concentrate on the crippled and more placid people when they want to get violent.

from a friend of mine. be nice:

Gary,

You shouldn't have to be disruptive. Just protest enthusiastically :-D. Have your information accurate. This thing will be won by people showing that they have done their homework and that the Dims don't know what they are talking about. There are good questions and bad questions. If you make claims that are not true or for which you have no evidence other than hearsay, you risk looking as dumb as they are. Let me put it another way. It is still too early to be disruptive. The focus should be on health care and why we don't want the government running it or much of anything else. The ideas should include things like

"You can't run snail mail, you can't run medicare, so just RUN and don't come back."

"I don't want to be forced to pay for health (or death) insurance ?"

"End-of-life IS death"

"Individual freedom, first, foremost and always"

"This is America not the FAILED Soviet Union"

Only National Zocialists want state control"

"Stay away from my kids"

"Robbing me to pay YOU does not create wealth."

Healthcare+Government=Death

You don't spell Healthcare -G O V E R N M E N T!! or

G O V E R N M E N T does not spell healthcare.

Government is hazardous to our health. or

Don't Government - it is hazardous to your health. (I kind of like this one)

You are not smarter than the people.

ObamaAid makes doctors afraid.

ObamaCare makes doctors scared.

The only abortion we want is this bill.

I have a parrot that makes more sense. It didn't read the bill either.

Global Warming's gonna kill us all in 4 years anyway.

I don't need the government protecting me from myself. I need to protect myself from the government.

How many fishy emails did you get today?

Just how did your nose get so long?

The only thing we want the government to control is the government.

questions

The government can't keep Medicare, medicaid or Social Security solvent, it can't make the Post Office profitable, it can't make AmTrack solvent, so explain why the government can run healthcare?

There aren't enough rich to tax into poverty.

Freedom is not money. We will not pay your bills with it.

The free market can do it better if government meddling stops. When is the government going to stop meddling?

Is healthcare going to be like the Post office or Amtrack? If not, why not?

Do some searches on the questions to ask. Being disruptive at this point is playing right into their hands. The cause is much better served by asking questions for which they have no sensible answers.

Listen to that Marine on the video I sent yesterday...those are the points to make. "stay away from my kids!

Here's a letter I sent to my senator and congressman today that has a lot of good points

Knowing that there is an uprising against government operated "HealthCare", I thought I would take this opportunity to make some comments. First, health care is far from the only issue. As bad as the legislation is, it is only one of many items of legislation that are rightfully seen as an attempt to destroy the economy, and our freedom along with it. Medicare and Medicaid have been tried and are on the verge of bankruptcy. Social Security is scheduled for bankruptcy or at best very much lower benefits. We have a "Stimulus" package that no one seems to know how to use, that has not produced anything that can be called meaningful jobs. I won't even get into Global temperature change, the cash for clunkers mess, and other government initiated disasters or potential disasters. Why is it when Congress makes laws that are sure to have negative consequences, Congress does not seem to care? Is it because our elected representatives believe they are immune from the after effects? Is it because our elected representatives believe that they must do something, even if they know that no action is needed? Is it because they think they can create a system of governing that only they can manage? Or is it because they do not have to bear the results of the failures? Every time Congress legislates they only make things worse. All laws are restrictive, thus the more laws you make the less freedom we have. Having said this, I am going to make some recommendations for health care. First, the government should de-legislate all regulations that inhibit competition in the health insurance business. Get rid of all restrictions on buying insurance across state lines. Keep the government completely out of health care except for those who work for the government. Only wide open competition can reduce costs. Drop any requirements that one must complete medical school to practice medicine. Many who flunk out after, say year 3, are perfectly able to practice medicine, although on a more limited scale...but keep in mind that they will have ONLY 1 year less training. This will open the market to more competition and will provide more doctors. We need to stop making laws that treat all people as if they were the same. They are not and never will be. Everyone has different genetic makeup, life styles, capabilities and interests, etc. Having everyone pay the same thing for health insurance takes no account of the variance in risks. We need to get rid of government regulations that increase the cost of medical care in the phony interests of "protecting the people from themselves". Forget the nonsense about "from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs". The objective should be to reduce the needs, not create a class of "needers". The American people are waking up to this threat. Forget about "fairness". Fairness as far too many think means only treating everyone the same, and that is impossible, except by making everyone slaves. Is this the intent of the Democratic Party? The real meaning of fairness is equality under the Rule of Law. It is being honest with others. Stop supporting illegal immigrants. they have no legal right to be in the United States no matter how long they have violated the law. Stop the claims that 47 million Americans are without health care. Illegal aliens which comprise the bulk of those without health insurance are NOT Americans. The choice of whether or not to carry health insurance should be that of the individual through private sector competition. However when the government meddles in the free market system and then blames the free market system for not working, that is simply insane. The lesson from loaning money to high risk people should be clear now, but apparently it is not. If everyone pays the same rate for health care what is the incentive to reduce one's life risks? If I get car insurance, which I can get from many places, I know that by driving carefully and not causing any accidents, my costs will go down. If they do not, I can and have gotten my insurance elsewhere. With regard to one’s freedom to choose one’s own physician, the plan will introduce a concept called “medical home” or, in other words, an HMO-type program where the primary care doctor acts as a gatekeeper and determines what specialists one may see or what tests one may be given. Such a structure will, among other things, introduce incentives for the doctor to withhold certain tests and reduce costs. This will present a forthright conflict between the physician’s and the patient’s respective best interests because the primary care physician will earn more money based upon the savings that he or she produces. Of particular concern to those of us who are opponents of using public funds to pay for abortions and for many family-planning programs is the continued insistence that the legislation permit such expenditures. In spite of protestations to the contrary, the efforts that have been made to offer amendments that would forthrightly limit such expenditures have been rejected by the relevant House committees. The existing language will, undoubtedly, be interpreted as to require these services when the plan is active. When our legislature is faced with an issue that so many citizens view as abhorrent and, for many, immoral, it is not asking too much that public funds not be used for them. Continued rejection of these efforts will only strengthen the sense of estrangement from fellow citizens that many have grown to have. There are many other serious concerns that accompany this effort, but, rather than occupy you with more “complaints,” I would like to make a few positive suggestions, not necessarily in order of importance, that will start us on the road to the goal of providing health insurance for as many of our citizens as possible at the lowest cost and without creating a new health care world. Some are repeated from above for emphasis: Remove all legal barriers that presently prevent citizens from purchasing health insurance across state lines and, at the same time, encourage private sector Health Savings Accounts, etc. This will permit the insurance companies to assess and price for health risks using large pools of insureds. Just as we benefit from the spreading of risks for our homeowners’ policies, we would also benefit from such large risk pools in the health insurance market. Equally important is the anticipation that many variations on the levels of insurance, levels of deductibles, etc., would evolve offering the consumer many options from which he may select as he deems best for himself. I, for example, may prefer to have a large deductible and smaller premium while you may prefer more “first dollar coverage” and are willing to pay more for that choice. Effect meaningful tort reform. A number of proposed legislative solutions are in the hopper and should be passed as soon as possible. There’s not much good that can be said for a legal system that encourages fraud and the legal “blackmailing” of physicians and their insurance companies while, all the while driving the defensive medicine which we all bemoan. This alone would reduce the costs of health care dramatically. The subsidy currently offered to employers via the tax exemption of health care premiums must be extended to individuals that purchase their own health insurance. It is only fair to do so. In short, let’s “free up” the market to gain the benefits that will accrue and eliminate the need for any system "reform". The amount of federal (and state) debt that is piling up should strike fear in us all. We will soon reach a tipping point where the only recourse will be to monetize the debt in such amounts that will create something akin to Weimar-style inflation. The government’s profligate spending, combined with our unwillingness to address such obvious problems as Medicare, sends a message to our international partners that we are fast becoming a nation of little discipline and no foresight. I urge you to do all in your power to stop the introduction of any new programs and work to get our financial and regulatory house in order before we embark on any new adventures such as the complete reformation of health care. I suspect that our world views are quite different and that you may not share my deep concerns. However, I am interested in hearing your sides of this.

What a trite thing to say. Have you been to any "rightwing" protests or are you basing your opinion on this one post?

Tell me, how do the "leftwing" protesters do it? Do you truly believe they have never forwarded their ideas on to friends.

It's like you are asking for an even playing field, like they are reasonable. They aren't. They'll never drop their agenda, no matter the reaction of 51, 55, 60, 75, 80%. They'll just repackage and disseminate. No, they need to be crushed. It won't be the current Republican Party that works with their leadership that does it. It will be something else.
