The U.S. military currently has concept powered armor that it hopes to have fully in the field by 2020. In addition to direct combat benefits, such as nano-reactive armor that detects incoming bullets and stiffens around the point of impact, a strength enhancing skeleton, allowing a carried load of 300 lbs, and a visor with incorporated heads-up display and gas mask, it also has such features as active camoflage that shifts colors depending on its environment (Predator style), and a universal translator built right into the helmet. It even has a gun that fires guided projectiles. Check it out.
