What's wrong with it?
2. WTH is wrong with people to simply "surrender" their firearms?
Each individual citizen is the best judge of whether he should own a firearm or not. If Joe Blow who lives in a nearby neighborhood, decides society is better off if he, Joe Blow, does not own a firearm, I'm not going to argue with him.
And if James Wilson who lives a few streets over, decides that society is better off if he, James Wilson, retains possession of the gun he bought a few years ago, I'm not going to argue with him either.
And if the other 100,000 gun owners in Lynchburg or wherever, decide that society is better off if they also individually retain their firearms, same deal.
Freedom to make your own decisions. It's a beautiful thing.
The fact that this particular decision is protected by the 2nd amendment, doesn't change that.
