So where is all the condemnation that the left wing buttholes gave GW about this issue? And the condemnation for another one of the Messiah's lame promises?
Obama Breaks Major Campaign Promise as Military Commissions Resume, Says Amnesty International
Human Rights Organization Reiterates Call for Detainees to be Tried in U.S. Federal Courts
WASHINGTON, May 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In response to President Barack Obama restarting the military commissions at the U.S.-controlled detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Amnesty International's executive director Larry Cox issued the following statement:
"President Obama is reinstating the same deeply-flawed military commissions that in June 2008 he called an 'enormous failure.' In one swift move, Obama both backtracks on a major campaign promise to change the way the United States fights terrorism and undermines the nation's core respect for the rule of law by sacrificing due process for political expediency.
"Whatever revisions the Obama administration has made to the commissions do not change the fact that the commissions do not provide an adequate standard of justice for the detainees nor the victims of terrorism -- they merely mock the U.S. Constitution, international laws and undermine fundamental human rights standards.
"What happened to President Obama's confidence in the U.S. justice system's ability to try detainees? He himself said that 'we need not throw away 200 years of American jurisprudence while we fight terrorism.'
"U.S. federal courts are a perfectly sound system to try any and all detainees. They have brought other terror suspects to justice, and there is no reason why these courts cannot continue to do the same."
Amnesty International is a Nobel Peace Prize-winning grassroots activist organization with more than 2.2 million supporters, activists and volunteers in more than 150 countries campaigning for human rights worldwide. I guess war is OK now, American Imperialism is just fine, sticking around for a while in Iraq is necessary, and the killing of civilians is tragic but unavoidable.
As long as a liberal is doing it
Not to mention their sudden penchant for drons in Pakistan.
Ramped up troop levels in the Graveyard of Empires.
A permanent presence in Mesopotamia.
Suspension of habeas corpus for overseas detainees.
Presidential designation of individuals as enemy combatants.
Rendition.
Continued warrantless wiretapping (with the wonderful sovereign immunity addition that prevents US citizens from seeking redress in courts).
Ramped up Patriot Act.
And we were told we could not take another Bush thrid term

Yes, Nancy, There Really Is a God Nemesis [Victor Davis Hanson]
There is an odd sense among Democrats that nemesis simply does not exist.
A once-vein-bulging Al Gore who barnstormed the country slurring President Bush by calling him a liar now seems baffled about the precedent he set of a vice president (albeit now much more politely in the case of Cheney) questioning the policy of the current president.
A Nancy Pelosi, hellbent on releasing once-classified memos for partisan advantage, and eager to begin 'Truth" hearings, suddenly believes such an inquisition will not apply to herself, despite the fact that she, like so many Democrats from Senator Schumer to Senator Rockefeller, in that dark period in 2001, spoke of the need for, or was complicit in, approving enhanced interrogation techniques.
Then the president himself, who jump-started his campaign in Iraq's crisis year by slamming the commander-in-chief on renditions, military tribunals, email and phone intercepts, Predator drone attacks, and Iraq, now suddenly wishes to explain the nuances and complexities of these policies and why he will continue the Bush protocols — apparently oblivious to the hypocrisy involved with his own prior self-interested stridency. These examples could be easily augmented....

The entire administration is an embarrasement to the US. Democrats are going to feel so stupid in two to three years that they have chosen this ridiculous leadership who is so obviously unqualified, biused and petty.
Pelosi, Obama and Schumer are all poorly unqualified to hold their positions. There are 1000's who would be better qualified, smarter and more legitimate than they.

Are Dems. really that slow emmett? 2 or 3 years, Hell I didn't vote for him but it only took a couple weeks to see what a embarrassment he is.Maybe they could take the 3 of them and waterboard them on national tv, then we could vote if it is really torture , and they would of really served a purpose?

There's little doubt that cracks in his support are appearing, though not from Democrats, an example, (read through it, it probably isn't as significant towards abortion as for President Obama):

More Americans “Pro-Life” Than “Pro-Choice” for First Time
Also, fewer think abortion should be legal “under any circumstances”
by Lydia Saad
PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.
The new results, obtained from Gallup's annual Values and Beliefs survey, represent a significant shift from a year ago, when 50% were pro-choice and 44% pro-life. Prior to now, the highest percentage identifying as pro-life was 46%, in both August 2001 and May 2002...
