That's crazy, in a college class-public or private. Now the lower schools might have more of a problem, but not at the college level. If teachers/professors want to avoid this, all they have to do is be more careful with their assignments parameters. IMHO that would be wrong, but not as wrong as this.

It would be really great if people could be more tolerant of intolerance.

Being intolerant of intolerance is just so circular.
